Pink and Polka

What to do when your little girl has grown out of her little girl bedroom? The pastel pinks and polka dots weren’t cutting it anymore for Andrea’s daughter M. (I don’t know what M stands for, but I like to guess. Megan? Maddison? Could be. Megatron is also a possibility. I’ll go with that.)

So Megatron needed some grown up but girly flava in her new room, and Andrea delivered with a bright yet simplified color scheme and tons of other fun details (like hot pink birds!) you can see on her blog Sisters with Flair. And you are never to old for polka dots.

Innovate for it…

Get ready for a couple of innovative ideas! So innovative that they get their own category! I call this category Innovative Ideas. I am nothing if not creative. I had a pet lamb as a child and I named it Lamby. This is who you are dealing with.

Ok, first Kristen and her handy husband had this massive beige sectional and needed to downsize. Plus, they were over the grimy beige. So one day they decided, what the heck, let’s chop this thing up and reupholster everything in purple and make a couch and an ottoman instead! Notice that it required building an entire extra arm on the couch? That is called using what you have. See it on her blog Call Me Kristen.

 And here is another redo that has nothing to do with reconstructing sofas, but I think it deserves to be called an Innovative Idea! Amy had a horrible light fixture. It was small and dangly and kinda boobish. She also had a wire basket and nothing to lose (besides the demi-boob) so she came up with this!

Sheer Poetry

Stripes, gray and white stripes, 
I love you so much,
 I wrote
this haiku for you.

That haiku was lame, 
I will try again. oh crap.
out of syllables.




Uh-oh, I smell another impromptu haiku contest!

I’m gonna knock you out!

Dawn, aka Yo-yo Mama had this ho hum baskety thing that was headed for her garage sale. But then she happened upon a fantastic blog full of nothing but before and after projects! I wonder what blog that was, it sounds great! Anyway, she was inspired to pull this from the pile and show it some love, and also introduce it to color. Night and day difference, wouldn’t you say?

Excessorize!

Truth be told, I think the reason I love this new kitchen may be in the accessories. The old kitchen was as boring as bran flakes. But now, look at that cool light! And that cool mirror! Cool bowl!

Oh, yeah, the rest of the kitchen looks pretty swell too. I mean there’s new flooring and countertops and backsplash and fixtures and appliances, and lighting and sink and stuff. Heyyy, cool chairs!!

Argyle Matey

I once knew a couple who’s last name was Argyle, and so whenever I see argyle, I always think of them. Then I think to myself, “Man. I wish I had a cool last name.” I really do. Allen. BO-ring! I knew a guy in school who’s last name was Champion! That’s a pretty good one. But I could have it worse, I know of a girl who married a guy who’s last name was Phillipenas, yes pronounced like THAT.

Anyway, so back to the point! Argyle! Argyle is what happened when Megan took on the task of painting this dresser/changing table for her nephew. Looks great, don’t you think?! See it on Megan’s blog Never a Dull Day.
