I’m gonna knock you out!

Dawn, aka Yo-yo Mama had this ho hum baskety thing that was headed for her garage sale. But then she happened upon a fantastic blog full of nothing but before and after projects! I wonder what blog that was, it sounds great! Anyway, she was inspired to pull this from the pile and show it some love, and also introduce it to color. Night and day difference, wouldn’t you say?

Check it out on her blog Mama Said Knock You Out. ha! Now that song will be in my head alllll day.

Ooh that’s a tough one. She did a fantastic job on it, and I love the color. But the original coloring and weaving was pretty awesome. (I think if it were me, I would have kept the weaving but maybe painted it a different color). Either way, win win and she done good.

Hi, I’m quite a new follower and enjoy your blog very much. This latest piece of furniture tho I think was fab as it was before being changed. It’s the style of thing which sells for several hundred £s here in England and would have fit into virtually any decorating scheme – before.
An award for bravery tho to the lady who changed it :O)

Thanks, Lindsey, for featuring my first COMPLETED do-over (it’s easy to start; not so much to finish)!

Amie, I have a duplicate piece that I would like to redo. I’ll take your advice under consideration. Keeping the weave would certainly make it easier. Maybe a glaze…?

Jane, I was lucky in that I think this piece only cost me about $50 and I bought two. However, if you want to give me several hundred dollars for the one I haven’t altered, I’d love to work something out with you!! 🙂

Thanks everyone for the lovely compliments. Truly appreciated!
