Checkered Past

Um… at least it has neutral flooring, right?
Neutral flooring is a great choice because it will go with ANYTHING. Ok, that’s a lie. You can’t just paint your kitchen walls magenta, hoping it will blend with your blue countertops and that every other design sin will get overlooked because you have a beige-ish floor.
In fact, the floor was the last problem area of this kitchen that Gail from My Repurposed Life tackled, and she did it just by repainting right over the vinyl! Amazing job on a shoestring budget. I love how it makes the blue countertops actually look modern and gives it a nice pop of (coordinating) color.

I really like that kitchen, I wouldn’t think going all white would make it look that nice! Great!

The cabinets at our last house were very similar, had I only known that I could paint them and get that look I would have made a beeline to the paint store.
