You might think this looks like nothing more than an old pile of nasty boards. And you’re right. But Marty had hope for her “Pinterest Pile” and knew it could play a role in her kitchen makeover. So now you’re probably thinking … table top? Palette art? Wrongness! She and her husband made a backsplash!
They had previously made a quick and easy backsplash out of peel-and-stick tile, but were beyond ready for a new look.
Her husband lightly sprayed the boards with just enough primer to brighten them up slightly and give them a more uniform look, then he simply nailed them in with finish nails. Who knew old fence parts could look so great?
That was not a rhetorical question, because I have the answer! Roxanne at Of Dwelling and Dress did! She used fencepost toppers to give this dresser a leg up, such a great idea. The dresser has been passed down in her family since 1967, and needed a little love, including removing a layer of lead paint, yikes. Looks like it’s ready for many more decades of use now!
