Consider yourself lucky if you live in a world where an HOA doesn’t control your life. Or at least your yard and your paint color and the height of your grass and how often you have to trim your stupid tree that you’d really just like to chop down, if the HOA would allow it. Which it most certainly will not.
Anyway, Christine had a bit of a boring door. Faded paint, weathered hardware; no one had shown this door any love for a while. When she hung up some new lima bean wreaths (yes, people are doing that with lima beans these days, don’t be alarmed!) she noticed that the door looked even more drab in comparison. So she whipped out the chartreuse paint and added a splash of geraniums for even more color. I think it looks amazing! But guess who didn’t? Those humbugs at the HOA. Oh well. It was good while it lasted!
See it on her hilarious blog Tragic Sensation.

December 7, 2010 at 11:24 PMHEY ALL! Thanks for linking, the HOA drama is coming…..I submitted to the approval committee, but only after their head cheerleader told me the doors were hideous and offending the neighbors…..I’m waiting for them to turn me down. At that point, I’m going to post the variety of early 1990’s seafoam, yellow, pink, and ham colored choices, and let the readers pick the UGLIEST color, and then I’ll repaint them. Hopefully we can come up with a color that will really bother some folks. 🙂

December 8, 2010 at 4:40 PMI love the color and the lima bean wreaths! Who knew !!! And I vote for ham pink…only because there are some many different meanings to the word “pork” you could use it in some witty way to get back at the HOA.
