Two very different chair projects featuring — if my eagle-eyes don’t deceive me — the very same fabric!

I love an office chair redo; office chairs are by nature, the most boring of boring in furniture. But if your house is like my house, they are used the most often. Jenn-Lee at Playfully Prissy gave this chair more sass for her … behind and more fun for her eyes with this great floral fabric. Thanks Jenn-Lee!

The second set of chairs also got a fun floral makeover, and you don’t often see kitchen chairs painted blue, but I love it. From LeAnn at Vintage Sassy, who I must apologize to for losing her link earlier! So very sorry Leann! She has great style. You must check out her blog, it’s an explosion of happiness and color!

Jaesi’s Dining Room

Jaesi was sick and tired of eating her meals in a room that was sick and tired. The previous owners of her home had used the dining room as a TV room, complete with food stained carpet, spooky wallpaper and a ceiling fan.

I for one am not a fan of fans … placed directly over an eating space, that is. Have you seen how much crap can collect on a ceiling fan? I don’t want that swirling over my food, no thank you sir.

So she reclaimed the room with fresh paint, hickory flooring, simple lighting and opened it up by removing the french doors. Looks superb! My favorite: that yellow chair in the corner! Check out more on her blog Melessa.

Wicky Wicky Remix!

Wicker? Stylish? I never would have guessed! But with that washed out white replaced by a cool greenish grayish bluish hue (can’t really tell, but it looks way better regardless), this wicker headboard from Tasha at The Simply Staged Home has been taken out of grandma’s guestroom and into current day. Good eye Tasha, I would have definitely passed that thing by in a thriftstore!

Mantle Moulding

Looking to make your mantle more ample? Consider beefing it up like Terri did, by simply repeating the moulding from the bottom to the top! The sconces look like they actually belong there now, and look! Natural brick that doesn’t make me want to poke my eyes out! It can be done!

Mr. & Mrs.

I love how these chairs look just about identical, especially after their makeover, but not completely. I think the one on the left is a girl, with her extra scrolls on the arms and back, and the one on the right is a boy.

When Kris took them to get recovered, the old upholsterer (not sure if that’s a word) guy looked at them and said “Hmmmm, these look familiar.” And sure enough when he flipped them over, his tag was still on the bottom, from decades earlier! Neat!

Good Looking Glass

Old windowpanes make for fun decor on their own, but Genevieve took hers a step further and inserted colored glass to make a beautiful art piece for her porch. I bet it looks amazing when the sun hits it!
