Fresh for Fall

Here’s a sweet little redo from Korrie at Red Hen Home. This is one rare instance where I wholeheartedly agree with the changes made in the hardware. The new pulls make it look like a more sturdy, substantial piece, wouldn’t you say? She also did this thing a favor by losing the glossy finish for a two-toned, distressed look. Love that, and I also love the little fall display in the numbered containers on top! Thanks for sharing Korrie!

Ask your doctor if it’s right for you!

Do you dream of a hi-def, super-gibungous flat-screen TV neatly mounted on the wall? Do you fantasize about inviting large groups of friends over to watch the big game, or Dancing With the Stars, if that’s the way you swing? Do you then find yourself feeling really bummed out since you know this will never happen? Because the sad truth is …
you have an ugly TV?
Don’t be ashamed. Ugly-TV-itis can happen to anyone. It’s not your fault.
Rachel wasn’t about to let her ugly TV get her down. She whipped out the white paint, enlisted the help of two side tables, and made a cohesive entertainment center out of what was formerly a lonely, wood-encased TV. Five out of five professional TV watchers would agree: much better!

A Lot Great

Was there anything wrong with this before kitchen? Certainly not! I personally would have lovey-doved it. But Aly didn’t love it, in fact, things were getting pretty rocky in her relationship with her kitchen. She didn’t feel comfortable in there; they were growing apart. Eventually, she found herself avoiding her kitchen altogether. It was time for a change. “You have to lighten up, or I’m gone!” she tearfully declared to her kitchen during a heated exchange.

So the kitchen finally admitted that maybe change was in order. And the rest is happily ever after! Check it out on her blog A Little Great and find some great tips on cabinet painting over where while you’re at it.

Ooooweee!

There is something to be said for the kind of gal who not only cutes up an ancient sewing table like it ain’t no thang, but goes so far as to match it to her own sewing machine for an extra kick in the pants. That gal is Ava, and you can see more on her blog Pacific Designs. Even better, the whole thing was free from craigslist! All I ever find for free on craigslist is literally, piles of dirt. What’s up with that? WHAT UP WITH THAT?! (What Up With That is probably my favorite SNL skit of all time)

Diamondback … er … side

Hot off the presses! This little beauty just landed in my inbox today and I loved it so much that I posted it immediately! Trust me, that is a HUGE deviation from my regular routine of:

checking my email …
clicking over to your blog to see your project …
noticing the great pumpkin muffin recipe you just posted …
googling more pumpkin recipes …
getting sidetracked by Kim Kardashian’s shoe club ads that are everywhere …
checking facebook
clicking through pictures of people I don’t even know on facebook
forgetting what I was doing online in the first place …
getting a drink …
sitting back down …
wondering why it takes me so long to check my email …
But this one shook me out of my haze, it’s so cute! From Lori at Goody Goody Gumdrops.

Old Lady Lamp

Speaking of grandmas, (we weren’t but go with it), did I ever tell you that my grandma is a clogging queen? (Clogging is like tap dancing, as far as I can tell, only more… energetic? Or corny? Or something?) Anyway, she clogs it up! She gets all dolled up with a bunch of other elderly dancers and they stomp around in their ruffles and bows, and the whole shamdangle is a sight to behold and it all kind of reminds me of this before lamp.

Deanne didn’t so much want a granny lamp wearing a clogging costume in her living room, so she gave it a sleek and chic makeover. It looks lovely! Check it out on her blog, where she chronicles her decision to live thrifty: My Second(hand) Life.
