There is something to be said for the kind of gal who not only cutes up an ancient sewing table like it ain’t no thang, but goes so far as to match it to her own sewing machine for an extra kick in the pants. That gal is Ava, and you can see more on her blog Pacific Designs. Even better, the whole thing was free from craigslist! All I ever find for free on craigslist is literally, piles of dirt. What’s up with that? WHAT UP WITH THAT?! (What Up With That is probably my favorite SNL skit of all time)

October 19, 2010 at 3:55 AMMajor kick in the pants! So cute I can’t even bear it…well, maybe just a little longer. ::swoon::
Also? Isn’t Phoenix craigslist the best. We should get into glass making or something…oh wait, that’s sand. Blast! (pun unintentional but seemingly fitting)

October 19, 2010 at 12:57 PMLove it! You know what? I have the same machine (the old Singer 401), and I love it! It will sew through anything, even blue jean hems! I got it for free when I bought the $15 cabinet it was in. Thanks for these pics. I’ve been thinking of repainting my cabinet. Think I’ll drop by her blog for the how-to.

October 23, 2010 at 3:33 AMI literally just had to rewind that skit 5 times because I was laughing so hard I kept missing parts! My favorite is “political wi-ill!” So glad you linked to that–it’s now safely saved in my Bookmarks!
