You know how everything used to be smaller in days of yore? Homes were smaller than they are today, so furniture was smaller. Dinner plates were smaller, so people were smaller, and so on and so forth.
But there’s one thing that wasn’t smaller. Toilets. Talk about UN-efficient. Look at the size of the tank in Brandi’s before bathroom. It looks just like the toilets in my grandparents house, which probably hold about 17 gallons of water, and seriously take a solid ten minutes to refill post flush.
Obviously an update was in order! Not only did Brandi add an earth-friendly toilet, she pulled out all the stops everywhere else. Beautiful floors, a delicious vanity, and I’m in loves with that wall treatment too. Even the outlet covers got upgraded! See more on her blog Brandi Nell The Southern Belle.

March 6, 2014 at 6:39 PMVery simple design and elegant. That old vanity was all kinds of ugly. Good for her on the makeover!

March 6, 2014 at 7:26 PMI love what you did… the tile, the mirror and the sink. I was just talking to my husband about what we should do with this hideous bathroom of ours.

March 7, 2014 at 7:05 AMLove the bathroom update. That is one nice vanity/mirror upgrade. And kudos for replacing a water guzzling toilet!
(Uh, Lindsey…tell your assistant that it’s “than” not “then” in “Homes were smaller then they are today.” It’s never too late to fix an error.)

March 7, 2014 at 11:41 AMThanks for noticing! Typos are my major pet peeve! Also, there’s no one to blame for the error other than myself. My assistant doesn’t write my posts at all, it’s just 100% me, 100% of the time. She just gets them ready for me to write, uploading the pics, etc. 🙂
Is her name still showing up? I thought I had fixed that … Hmmmm.

March 7, 2014 at 7:53 AMI went back to look at the “before” floor … I had missed the carpeting on the first look. Oh my! What a fabulous improvement with the bold flooring and every other choice. Well done!

March 7, 2014 at 2:49 PMHi Lindsey,
First, Brandi’s bathroom is absolutely beautiful. I have used an antique dresser in a newly constructed basement bathroom, and just love the look.
Second, I commend you on your blog. I love reading and seeing everything that you post. Regards, Judy Cholfe
