Whole Wheat. What do those words bring to mind? Excessively wholesome bread items? Yeah, that’s all I’ve got too. But did you know Whole Wheat is also a paint color? It probably doesn’t make you think “Oh boy! That sounds like a color I want to paint my entire home with!” And who can blame you? Of all the paint color names in the world, it might be a contender for the boringest.
But that’s what Pamela was dealing with, an entire houseful of Whole Wheat walls and builder-grade everything else. She’s slowly been tweaking everything to suit her style, from the flooring to the furniture, and of course, the paint. Now her living room is rocking a soothing coat of Classic Khaki (which, ok, might ALSO be pretty high up there on the paint-color-name-of-boringness scale), but it certainly LOOKS better now.
See more of her transition from warm and wheaty to calm and creamy on her blog From My Front Porch To Yours.
Doesn’t it look so much brighter now? I also love the way she’s sectioned off the room a bit with the new furniture placement too. Well done Pamela!

February 4, 2014 at 10:51 AMI don’t think the paint color made as much of a change as the rearranging of furniture and taking down those heavy plaid curtains. I’m dealing with a whole house of builder’s beige myself. Mine looks more like peanut butter than whole wheat though. Ugh. Slowly but surely we’re obliterating it one room at a time. It sure does feel good to get rid of it though!
