I have a friend who has a beautiful home with bedrooms for each of her children, an office, a craft room, a play room, and TWO spare guest rooms. It’s true, and it’s royally unfair.
But hey, don’t feel bad if you don’t have the luxury of such spacious space in your home. I think it’s far more common to make-do and combine a room or two, like this home office/guest room. (I bet your guests don’t even mind. They have emails to send and Facebooks to check too).
So anyway, that’s the point that Gemma started at: a computer area, a day bed, and a whole lot of turquoise paint. Then she decided to up her game a bit and gave this office/guest space a sunny makeover, first documented here.
But, as you can see, this was just an inbetweener stage. There was more to come for this little room, when a new guest moved in. Permanently! Now it’s a super chic little nursery for her baby girl, with a corner for computing that blends right in. It’s just so fresh and sweet, I bet she smiles every time she walks in.
See all the details on her blog The Sweetest Digs.

January 31, 2014 at 10:22 AMThe before was good, the in-between was better, and the end product is the BEST! So cool. Love to see the transitions. And Lindsey, a house as big as you describe as “bedrooms for each of her children, an office, a craft room, a play room, and TWO spare guest rooms” is TOO big!
Just sayin’ that some of us prefer small because it is beautiful.

January 31, 2014 at 11:22 AMThat is a lovely makeover. I love how bright it is. I hope she takes those ribbons off the crib though. As soon as the baby can crawl and reach the edge, those will go right in the mouth and be dangerous.

January 31, 2014 at 11:43 AMWow! Totally taking it a step up. I want to know how she went from just ok, to blowing those rooms away. What did she learn in between that elevated her to those amazing styles? Gorgeous!

February 3, 2014 at 8:35 AMEeeee thanks so much for including my nursery/office makeover here!! So thrilled.
@JessicaH — Yes, I will definitely be removing the ribbons as soon as there is any crawling happening. We’re still in the newborn stages, so I still have a little bit of time 🙂
@Brittany – Thanks for your sweet comment! I have been learning as I go with this whole decorating thing! 🙂
