When your armoire needs more.

I love IKEA, the happy land of sensibly priced Swedish furniture and tasty meatballs, but that doesn’t mean I want certain items in my home screaming out “Hey!  I’m that item everybody knows is from IKEA!”

Lauren felt similar feelings towards this IKEA armoire.  Solid wood and the perfect size, but it needed a little bit of work to fit in nicely with the rest of her home.  Whitewashing the wood and dry-brushing the hardware did the trick; it looks like a family heirloom!  But she didn’t stop there.  Check out her blog  The Thinking Closet to see how she hacked the inside!
