Gimme Gimme More

Kris had an awesome dining room table in her dining room, but that was about it.  But seriously, what else does one need in a dining room other than a table, am I right?  Well, some matching chairs would be nice.  And I wouldn’t shake a stick at a pair of stunning chandeliers either.  Of course, what good is all of that without beautiful drapes to soften the natural light?

New paint to really set off the crown moulding would be a lovely touch too.  And of course, a large, neutral rug to really anchor the space. But other than that …  all you really need is a table, am I right?  Of course I’m not!

That is an excellent makeover. If mine looked like the after, I’d probably use the dining room for dining, instead of storage. Of boxes. Paperwork. Fireworks. Yeah, just like I always dreamed of.

Lindsey, I like the big, individual pics of the before & after, followed by the small side-by-side.

Yes, love the side x side after the large pics cause I kept scrolling up and down, up and down, so that I could compare.

I really like this format with the large pics then the side by side. And I love the distressed look of the chairs against the formal stain of the table. Beautiful!

I’ll add my vote for side by sides in addition to the larger individual images. What you provide for me is a chance for my imagination to grow, to think of the ‘possible’ instead of focusing on the ‘horrible’. THANK YOU!

I love the side-by-side pictures. I always find myself scrolling back and forth in disbelief trying to pick out all the things that have changed. The side-by-sides don’t remove the disbelief, just keep my scrolling finger from wearing out! 🙂

I have been meaning to post and tell you how much I am enjoying your blog. I love it! That dining room makeover is great. I think it is one of the best dining room makeovers I’ve seen. Love the drapes. The side by side photos really show the difference in the room “before” and “after”. It’s a great idea.

Your current setup is pefect, love the big shots but the side by side helps too. I didn’t notice how lovely the table legs were in the before pics as there was so much dark wood, the makeover is really beautiful.

I like the addition of small side-by-side comparison after larger pictures, but I don’t think it may be necessary for smaller items – like the teacher’s chair (p.s. hot DAYUM that chair is looking good) but definitely for larger things and whole room makeovers.

Sorry about that extra 20 seconds, though.

Love seeing the larger size and then the smaller side by side too. Sometimes seeing a smaller scale of pic helps to get a better overall view. Keep up the good work. And….Oh my what a great transformation on that dining room she did!

Perfect format — two large photos then side-by-side! Also… are the dining room drapes hand-stenciled or were they purchased like that? Would love to get my hands on those!
