Nighstand Apart

Wowzers, what a crazy weekend that was! I had a great time at SNAP, meeting new friends for the first time and old friends for the first time in reality. The only way I can describe it is half immensely productive learnin’ time, and half giant slumber party.  I’m so glad I went, and highly recommend it to anyone considering going.  I took some really valuable classes that taught me a lot, so you will probably be seeing a few little changes happening around here soon.  Nothing major, like, ‘Hey! I decided to become a food blogger!’ but just tweaks and things to make your experience better. Yay, right?

In other news, Reese Witherspoon got arrested!  What?!

In other, less random news, here are two nightstand makeovers for your viewing pleasure.  Both of these come from Reeves at The Weathered Door, and I wish they would both make their way to my door, because I love them so.  Which one is your favorite?  Her walnut/navy two-tone nightstand?

Or, her black, blue, and white geometric nightstand?

My verdict: too close to call.  They both rock my socks!  Although I have no qualms about painting over wood, I am becoming more and more a sucker for the warmth it brings, so even just leaving a peek like she did here adds something paint never could.  Bravo!

PS: Unless your name is Bree Peterson, you did not win the Silhouette Portrait, sorry!  But, there is still time to get your hands on one of the best Silhouette bundles of the year, or take advantage of their huge vinyl sale Right here!

I would like the second one to make its way to my door. 🙂 They’re both awesome, but I’m so digging the geometric look.

I like the second one a lot, especially how the natural wood is made part of the design. The first one, not so much. I think it looks like it was outlined in painter’s tape.

Ummm, when I heard about Reese today on the radio, my jaw dropped…I’m a little concerned at this point. P.s. I like the first dresser best, I like solid colors, and I have that same fake aluminum fan.

I agree. Too close to call. Both rock. And I’m with you craving the warmth of wood!

I love the second one but I don’t care for the first one. It looks unfinished to me. But then I didn’t like the mid cent dresser with the bright green frame painted on it. Oh well, to each his own! I think they both did a really good job on the painting though.
