Happy Earth Day! OK, so that was yesterday, but I feel like Earth Day is everyday here on Better After! All year long we are keeping ratty old furniture from filling up landfills or maximizing space and minimizing waste in our homes, or just plain adding more beauty to the world.
Here is a perfect example from Sylvia who lives in Bulgaria and turned her itty-bitty closet space into a fully functional laundry room. I asked her where her dryer was, and she said most Bulgarians don’t ever use dryers, just clotheslines. Her house is 700 square feet, and so every inch must be practical and usable. But that doesn’t mean it can’t be pretty at the same time too. Earth thanks you Sylvia!

April 23, 2013 at 5:28 PMMy family lived in Ukraine for a while and our washer doubled as a dryer, but we always just laid everything on the radiators or hung them to dry on the balcony. Love the stripes!
