Jimdandy Chandy

Kara had decided that this funky old chandelier was just not for her.  Good thing, because this isn’t even her house. You are actually looking at her friend Abby’s living room, the lucky recipient of Kara’s generous chandelier donation.
Abby was was totally stoked to hang that thing smack dab in the center of her home, but the rest of the room was a mound of ‘meh.’ Abby knew that a light fixture of this magnitude needed a solid supporting cast, so she rounded up some color and accessories to complement the brass and glass, and made the whole room shine.  See more on her blog A Delightful Design.

Lindsey- Thank you so much for the feature! This was really fun to read and I loved hearing your perspective. I agree– when we bought the house it was definitely “meh”. 😉

April, I do have edesign clients if you’re interested!

    Thanks again!

Big difference. Love the brick painted white and the table blue. No more “mehs” now!

Wow, I love the window curtains – the window looks the same size but they made the curtains start at the ceiling? that’s a great idea

This before and after was amazing! I lost track of how many times I looked back and forth between the two! It is amazing how much bigger the ‘after’ room looks! Job well done!

This is a testimony to the power of simple paint. As far as I can tell, the only two changes are the mantel and the room color. Just gorgeous!

Thanks all for the sweet comments! There is actually a long list of changes: velvet curtains hung floor to ceiling on the slider, new pillows all around, wall and fireplace color, refurbished Drexel buffet as our TV stand, new lamp, PB table got painted teal with gold leaf trim. There are more, but I’ll stop. 🙂
