Jill is a girl who puts style high on her priority list. So even though a major kitchen overhaul wasn’t in the budget, she was determined to make a chic space out of this awkward and style-free kitchen.
So she ripped out the old cabinets and went with sleek open shelving, updated the paint and decor, and had had herself a whole new look for $150! (What is the secret to those floating shelves? Every time I’ve tried to put some up, they never seem to stay exactly level, and all my stuff rolls off the front…arg.)
She says the next phase is updating the existing cabinets, but until then, she could also give this look a try: HERE.
Check out her great blog, The Good Life for Less, and be prepared to spend a lot of time over there! Thanks Jill!

April 23, 2010 at 2:50 AMI always admire those floating shelves but I know they wouldn’t work in my kitchen. I really like hiding things!
