I admit it. I don’t really have a warm fuzzy spot in my heart for “theme” rooms. A little kitchsy for my taste I guess. They can be overwhelming, not to mention limiting. I know a lady who has a ‘pig-themed’ kitchen. There are probably over 200 pigs in there. Pigs on the dishtowels, pigs on the wall, pig statues, pig curtains, pig placemats, etc, etc., etc. It’s terrifying.
But hey, if you are doing a theme room, then do it all the way baby. Take this before bathroom. It was headed in a cabin-esque direction, but the most noticeable feature was that dangly light fixture. Oh yeah, that and the giant bear.
Karen took the room to the next level by HAND PAINTING that mural! Wow! With the woodsy vibe complete, the soap-serving bear no longer looks so crazy and out of place. And did you notice? The bucket is actually the sink! Pretty fun, I must say.
Check out Karen’s site if you’re in the market for a sweet hand painted mural yourself!

February 3, 2010 at 4:09 PMI would appreciate if you could somehow prevent my parents from ever seeing this post. They have the cabin-esque bathroom, complete with the little bear accessories. I think they would LOVE the mural. 🙂

February 3, 2010 at 4:02 PMWow she is quite talented to have created such a beautiful mural! As long as the bear is friendly like Yogi Bear I wouldn’t be “too” afraid to go in there! The bucket sink is too cool!

February 3, 2010 at 11:57 PMThat’s an amazing work of art! But…why has no one else made a ‘does a bear **** in the woods’ joke? Because that’s what I would think every time I walked in there…

February 3, 2010 at 8:04 PMthe painting is awesome, but I might have mixed feelings about the bear thing. I mean I would NOT like to enter the bathroom at night, half asleep and face “him”…No mam’ HAHAHA

February 3, 2010 at 8:53 PMI think the bear would give me performance anxiety… I do like the bucket sink though, that’s pretty neat.
