Budget Bathroom and Being a Belieber

There are three things we need to talk about today.

First of all: the Biebs. Justin Bieber AMIRIGHT? And NO, I’m not talking about his nakkie pictures you perv, I’m talking about his latest music. It’s … good.  Ugh, I feel like I’m admitting something sinful here, but I REALLY LIKE IT. So catchy! So dance-y!  Who’s with me?? Get on this train!

Second: Walmart grocery pickup. GAME CHANGER. I finally decided to give it a try for the first time yesterday, and now there’s no going back, ever.

It works like this: you order your groceries online, schedule a time to pick them up, drive up to the reserved parking spot, someone wheels out your whole order and puts it in your car for you, and you’re done. You don’t have to drag your terrorist toddler inside. You don’t have to stand in line. You don’t have to wander the aisles for twenty minutes trying to remember where the olives are. You don’t have to guess what items you need because you undoubtedly forgot your list at home. You don’t even have to wear pants. You probably should wear pants. BUT STILL. I could go on and on, but Walmart is not even paying me to say this, so I’ll leave it at that. But seriously, try it.

Thirdly: Here is your Better After of the day. It’s a budget bathroom makeover by Jen, who plans on someday gutting and re-configuring this whole space, but in the meantime decided it could use a little cosmetic update.

Now everything is clean and serene. And did she replace those pizza-joint-esque tiles? Nope, just painted right over them! Brilliant.

She carried the same scheme over into the adjacent laundry room, which nicely ties everything together. I’m a big fan of uniform paint colors throughout a house.

It never ceases to amaze me what a little paint and some accessorizing can do! Check out the whole rundown on her blog  They Say a Picture is Worth A Thousand Words.

Ok, I don’t even like WalMart but this intrigued me. What is this grocery thing called? Maybe it’s not available at the ones near me. šŸ™

Oh my gosh, Lindsey! If you think pick up is good, you need to try delivery. Imagine not needing to drive there or back at all. You don’t even need to bring the groceries in the house from your trunk! Totally worth it. I started delivery 10 months ago and I haven’t set foot in a grocery store since!

I freaking knew it! I KNEW that house was an Aussie one! Coz it looks like mine! Ok, not as good as Jen’s but the walls, the windows! They are truly an Aussie thing. Go to Jen’s blog, and voila! Or should I say; Bloody oath! She is like me, a fellow Bunnings aficionado. (Bunnings is the equivalant of Home Depot.) Really good do over, Jen!

    BTW I am a closet One Direction fan. I know….no life….what can I say?

@Maria, yeah, your comment the other day about the dog into a cushion. LOL! I didn’t even notice until I scrolled back it was roughly the same size in the same spot. Plus, I was charmed by your local vernacular, you said you couldn’t lean back on the comment, we would say, we couldn’t hold back the comment. I love little differences like that.

WHAAT, Lindsey? I wonder if Walmarts in MN will offer that, I wouldn’t even have to drag my toddlers out in the blistering cold? Does it cost extra? I find grocery shopping in the winter painful!

And the Beibs? Uggh. I’ll give you that he’s a good singer. But his “What do you need song”? It reminds me of a teenage boy, once I find out what you need, I’ll exploit that so then I can get what I want. Although… that is sort of how love works, it makes you happy to make them happy and they want to make you happy in return…so whatevs. Maybe he’s legit.

Thanks so much for the feature! Ha ha, I share the post with Justin Bieber, that made me giggle. And grocery delivery is the #1 thing (besides people) that I miss about our time in the UK. Only one chain here in NZ delivers and not to my area *sob*

(Sorry, posted before I was finished!) The only groceries they will deliver is non-refrigerated or fresh items. What’s the point of that? I can stock up on cans once every few months; it’s the fresh stuff I run out of more frequently and want delivered! I can do the collection service that you mentioned, but I’d have to drive half an hour to collect, so not much point.
