Kendra’s Craft Room

This lovely room redo comes from Kendra, aka Domestic Princess in Training. I originally thought she reclaimed the dining room as a craft room, but it’s actually a room in between the dining room and kitchen. What?! Who knew there was such a thing, and where can I get one? What would you call that? A pre-dining dining room? An appetizer room?
Well, now it is a super cute craft room, full of light and happy splashes of yellow. Click on over to her blog to see the “curious” item she used for this room’s inspiration! HERE. Thanks Kendra!

The Magic Brush

Going white seems to be the hot trend in kitchen cabinets these days, but Jennifer from The Magic Brush just wasn’t feelin‘ it. She prefers color and lots of it, thankyouverymuch
So she invested in some high quality glaze and lovingly attacked her cabinets bit by bit to give them more depth and color. Check out her blog HERE for a close up, and to see what’s hiding in her cabinets!

Dressing up Bessie

Sarah alerted me to the fact that she was overhauling her entire house, so I hopped on over to her blog Baby Steps with Bessie to take a peek. (Anyone who names their house, let alone names their house”Bessie,” is alright with me!)
So here was Bessie’s dining room. Ack! Shield your eyes! Let’s get a close up of that wallpaper. I see mallard ducks floating among be-ribboned baskets of flowers. Home Sweet Home indeed. A little too sweet. I’m afraid.

Ahhhhh, it’s like you can breath in here now! And let’s take a look at the living room. Be prepared for another assault on your eyes, this time from the lava-like glow of the magenta carpet.

And after! If springtime looked like a living room, it might look just like this. Thanks Sarah! By the way, I see you! Check out more of Bessie’s progress over on her blog HERE.

More by Devore

This redo is so hot, it’s been spreading like wildfire across the blogosphere! My apologies if you’ve seen it already, but man oh man, it’s great!
You’ve seen them. The builder-grade brass light fixtures, abundant in the 90s, now abandoned in heaps at the thriftstores. No potential there that I can see. But maybe someone can. Maybe someone is willing to pay that $15 and give these babies new life.
That someone is Bethany from Dwellings by Devore, and I simply am amazed at their Gorgas transformation. I would have never guessed that her beautiful chandeliers had such humble beginnings. Wowzers!

Wall Disguise

What would you do if you found yourself renting a home with a giant, gaudy Venetian mural slapping you in the face every time you walked in the front door?
Vicky from The City Cradle had this exact predicament: her landlord stated explicitly that no matter what, the mural stays. So she got creative and painted boards to place over the mural, giving her the more streamlined, mural-free look she desired, and keeping the landlord happy at the same time! Check it out on her blog HERE. Thanks Vicky!

Bathroom by Tasha

Here’s another jewel from Tasha over at The Simply Staged Home. This bathroom was more than staged, it underwent a total transformation with pretty much every single thing gutted out and replaced.

Tell me, is this now not technically considered a full bath, since the tub was removed? Like it even matters, because the new bathroom is about ten million times better and adds so much more value to the home. I’d want this home just for the bathroom! Thanks Tasha!
