Joyful Joyful!

Wow, with all the hulking masses of furniture clogging up this room, I hardly noticed that the bottom half of this room is painted in the official color of the 1990’s: Hunter Green.
Joy was tired of her awkward furniture arrangement and dark bedroom too. So she used the chair rail to her advantage by adding a board and batten treatment, and lightened up the whole look. I love the color palette she used, it is so fresh and welcoming! Great job Joy! See more on her blog Thrifty Parsonage Living.

From Chip to Hip

Can’t keep my, can’t keep my, no I can’t keep my poker chip table…
Apologies to Lady Gaga, but that’s what Charity thought after her sister pointed out that the pink design on this table looked like a poker chip. Not wanting to subconsciously inflict a lifelong gambling problem on her little girls, she went with another look, courtesy of an old ruffled skirt. Ack, it’s so cute I can hardly stand it!
Check out her blog All Things Beautiful for her table skirt tutorial and more!

Can It

Previously, Shelly’s kitchen was pretty bleak. Blah builder cabinets, some sort of flooring disaster, and those horrible horrible can lights. Who on earth ever decided those were a good look for home lighting? Why the need to position 14 separate beams of light throughout your kitchen? Does your grilled cheese sandwich really need or deserve gallery lighting? Such a mystery.

Anyhoodle, the after is inspiring, all open cabinets and happy colors and pretty pendants. Lots more details to see over on Shelly’s blog, Family BLT. Thanks Shelly!

Curb Appeal For Real

“Hello, this is Better Homes and Gardens calling. We’d like to put your house on the cover of our magazine, whaddya say?”
AnnMarie had better brace herself, because I wouldn’t be surprised if she actually received that call. Then she can tell them all about how she made the shutters and trellis herself, and how her plants are more than thriving, and Better Homes and Gardens will probably offer her a job on the spot.
Check out more loveliness on her blog La Maison LaFortune.

Flabulous Chairs

Those old chairs formerly belonged to the president and vice president of the Nasty Fabric Club. Ok, actually, Anna found them at a yard sale.
The after is so bright and cheerful, I’m betting that Anna is a fun gal. Maybe she should start her own club. See more on her blog Holy Flab! which is worth checking out simply for the name alone. Thanks Anna!

Show & Retell

I’m probably late to the party here, because this redo has proved pretty popular around bloglandia. In fact, when I checked it out on Sausha’s blog Show and Tell, it had already received 101 comments!

But does that mean we can’t marvel at it again? Of course not! So please do enjoy Sausha’s laundry room redo, and take time to appreciate that girlfriend built those washing machine pedestals all by herself! With power tools and everything. Looks amazing!
