Barn of Cuteness

I’ve seen a lot of things cute-i-fied over the last year, everything from shower curtains to camper mattresses, to pianos … but a barn? This is a first.
But hey, who says a barn can’t be cute? Not me. And Melanie’s barn certainly fits the bill. Look at all the detail she added, windows, flower boxes, the whole nine yards. No, even better than that, it’s ten yards! Where the heck did that saying come from anyway? It makes no sense whatsoever. Is it a football term?
Anyway, back to the point: Cute barn! By Melanie! See more on her blog The Old White Cottage.

Inspired Inn

Michael from Inspired by Charm had better be careful. If he keeps sending me these gorgeous pictures of his inn, one day he’s going to find me camped out there and unwilling to leave.
Check out this simple yet stunning update of his dining room. I love the yellow and I think he did a fantastic job accessorizing. My favorite: the little “hello!”
Check out his link above for a closer look around the room. Thanks Michael!

Tickled Pink

Lindsey had herself a Room of Shame. But it didn’t stay that way for long. She fixed it up right quick with a happy shade of blue and some great accents as an office for her photography business
But then…she had another project up her sleeve, and the room got a makeover again.. Can you guess what it was? (Hint: A baby!)
Update! I’ve just been notified that Lindsey has posted these on her familial blog as well, do check them out! Find them HERE and HERE.

Stevie’s Stuff

Crackle paint! Hunter green! Stevie’s dining set was definitely showing it’s age. Don’t you worry, it’s nothing a good coat of white can’t handle.
It’s a well known fact that white paint can fix anything. White paint should be a U.N. Ambassador. White paint can fix your credit. BP should have called white paint first.
Check it out all the details on Stevie’s blog, Domestic Diva Stevie.

And check out this cute table redo she did too!

White Paint for president!
Crystal knobs for vice president!
See it HERE.

Merri’s Mirror

Whoever built our home either ran out of imagination or paint by they time they got to my bathroom, because the walls in there are covered in GIGANTIC mirrors. No joke, they take up both walls, end to end. It’s a bit disconcerting when stumbling to the bathroom at night and seeing three versions of yourself stumbling back at you.
I don’t really know what to do about this mirror situation, but I’ve always wanted to at least dress them up a bit. Got it/flaunt it I guess. I’ve seen the Mirror Mate products being featured around blog land (Mirror Mate people, CALL ME!) and that’s kind of the idea I’ve been wanting to try.

Merri from Day Dreaming and Decorating had the same idea and took miters into her own hands (ha! hardware pun!) and fashioned some mirror frames out of simple trim herself. I love the look, it’s so much more finished than the plain jane builder mirrors. I might just give it a try myself!
 (BUT SERIOUSLY GUYS, CALL ME.)

Shut(ter) the Front Door

This redo makes me dream of the days when I can go outside again without roasting alive. This Arizona weather keeps me trapped indoors all day every day, and it’s really getting old! I’d love to freshen up my yard like Christine did here, but I can only be outside for about 2 minutes before I’m dripping in sweat and my flip flops have secured themselves to the pavement.
What you can’t see from the before pic are the giant shrubs that Christine removed, she says “I managed to get the worst case of poison oak ever and that same week found out that I was pregnant with my second child. Good times…” Yikes!
I also like how she removed those odd door shutters! Door shutters!? Whoever heard of such a thing? What is your verdict?
