This redo makes me dream of the days when I can go outside again without roasting alive. This Arizona weather keeps me trapped indoors all day every day, and it’s really getting old! I’d love to freshen up my yard like Christine did here, but I can only be outside for about 2 minutes before I’m dripping in sweat and my flip flops have secured themselves to the pavement.
What you can’t see from the before pic are the giant shrubs that Christine removed, she says “I managed to get the worst case of poison oak ever and that same week found out that I was pregnant with my second child. Good times…” Yikes!
I also like how she removed those odd door shutters! Door shutters!? Whoever heard of such a thing? What is your verdict?

August 23, 2010 at 3:11 PMthat is a great re-do!! Unfortunately around here (Maine) I see ‘door shutters’ all. the. time. What-I ask- is their purpose? I also can’t stand non-functional shutters! lol

August 23, 2010 at 3:52 PMWe have this couple in our small town that buys houses for rentals and they fix them up. They put door shutters on all of them! It looks kind of tacky! Christine did a great job!

August 23, 2010 at 5:39 PMI too, live here in the valley of the sun and most of my projects are indoors. I am working on (slowly) this hideous pair of chairs that my daughter bought for $10 and surprisingly left them at my home. They are the ‘can’t remove my upholstery ever’ type of chairs, so now my brain will actually have to do some measuring and tucking and creative sewing. Should be lots of fun, but my sewing room is a enclosed porch addition that has the direct’ valley of the sun’ sun on it all day long. My goal, someday, is to have them on your blog!

August 24, 2010 at 1:28 AMNice Redo. I think I remember seeing those door shutters when I lived up north butnot so much here in NC. Now I will have to be on the look out to see if they do that down here.
