Andie over at Shoe Obsessed has a bit of a nautical theme going on that I love. What is more nautical than starfish and stripes and pianos? Nothing I tell you! Ok, so maybe not the piano, but it sure looks at home with a fresh coat of white and some new coral knobs. (Did you hear me? I said CORAL KNOBS!! My heart, it hath fluttered).
Jessica from Decor Adventures is lucky enough to have a foyer right inside her front door, and I admit, I’m a little jealous. If I had a foyer, I would greet my guests by dramatically sweeping my arm and saying, “Please step into my grand foy–YAAAY.”
She prettied up her space with a lot of thrifted finds and lightened up the brick. I think it looks very inviting and cozy!

Remember how a few days ago I was joking about stealing my Grandma Jerri’s TV? Well, this weekend I was actually at her house, and I was actually eyeballing said TV, and I noticed it actually looked a lot like Kari’s cabinet here. That should tell you how old that dang TV is, because Kari’s cabinet has been handed down for four generations.
Seriously, Grandma, I’m coming to gut your TV. Don’t be scared.
Anyway, so this cabinet had seen better days by the time it landed in Kari’s hands, but she knew it could be saved. She went to a lot of effort sanding it (45 hours worth! 45!!) and refinishing it, rather than slapping a coat of paint over it. (Which is fine for something you bought for $10 on Craigslist, but not for a 4th generation heirloom china cabinet, youknowwhati’msayin?)
I love the light blue interior, looks so lovely against the dark wood and white dishes.
