Remember how a few days ago I was joking about stealing my Grandma Jerri’s TV? Well, this weekend I was actually at her house, and I was actually eyeballing said TV, and I noticed it actually looked a lot like Kari’s cabinet here. That should tell you how old that dang TV is, because Kari’s cabinet has been handed down for four generations.
Seriously, Grandma, I’m coming to gut your TV. Don’t be scared.
Anyway, so this cabinet had seen better days by the time it landed in Kari’s hands, but she knew it could be saved. She went to a lot of effort sanding it (45 hours worth! 45!!) and refinishing it, rather than slapping a coat of paint over it. (Which is fine for something you bought for $10 on Craigslist, but not for a 4th generation heirloom china cabinet, youknowwhati’msayin?)
I love the light blue interior, looks so lovely against the dark wood and white dishes.
Check it out on her blog Beautiful Inspirations. Thanks Kari!

October 5, 2010 at 4:05 PMLooks fabulous! I have dark wood kitchen cabinets and I was thinking of adding glass panels to some of the upper cabinets. I thought about painting the insides white but I didn’t know what that would look like. Thanks for the inspiration!

April 11, 2011 at 4:58 AMI’ve been reading your blog all weekend (sick in bed) and I must say that this is the most amazing idea for a blog ever!
Of course I’ve asked myself over and over why I didn’t think of this. But really, you’re incredibly enjoyable to read, the perfect person to be doing this.
So I just want to say THANK YOU for doing this.
And this is my favorite After yet. Just spectacular!
I’m so inspired now.
