By now, I’m sure you’ve heard of Scentsy and all their fabulous smell-good stuff. But if not, here’s your chance!

I chose the Silvervine warmer (seen here) which arrived right at my door along with the scent bar Honey Pear Cider. I was a little nervous ordering a scent I’d never actually smelled in-person, but I figured that since I liked honey and pears and cider, it was a safe bet.

I’m happy to report that it is FANTASTIC. I’ve been using it non-stop. It’s so nice to be able to leave it on all day without worrying, and having my home smell delicious whenever I walk in the door.

The bars are so long lasting, I’ve had it for a good month now, and I still haven’t gone through the whole thing.

Jumping Jacks!

I’m sure you’ve seen your fair share of Union Jack themed makeovers, but I love Deana’s slightly distorted take on it. Whether she’s staying true to the original design or tweaking the colors completely, or even giving you just a vague hint of Union Jackiness, her love (or possible obsession!) of the flag waves high and proud. Daena is fighting a rare and aggressive form of cancer and has discovered how therapeutic painting furniture can be. For this dresser she used her favorite colors and a stylized look, and was thrilled with the outcome! I love how the design crawls up and over the front. See it HERE.

And see what I mean about vagueness? I’m not sure what design this chair was sporting in a previous life, but Daena saw Jackitude (made up word) in there somewhere and brought it out! See it HERE.

Mama’s Gonna Move You Uptown

Who knew this dresser possessed so much elegance? She’s like Eliza Dolittle! (Confession: I have never actually seen My Fair Lady, but I’m pretty sure it involves a country bumpkin type girl who gets all refined and stuff? And then becomes a prostitute? Wait, maybe I’m thinking of that Reba McEntire song Fancy). Um, yeah. Either way, what I’m trying to say is this dresser looks fabulous!

Turning Fifty

Donna’s kitchen was stuck in a time warp, and tragically, the most unattractive time period of all: the faux-wood-paneling-up-to-here-and-beyond period. A renovation was overdue, so she went even further back in time, to the cute and colorful 50’s!

If I could, I would go even further back in time, to the Downton Abbey era where a kitchen was a room I never entered but existed somewhere on the lower floor of my castle and produced amazing meals and all I ever had to do was show up in a pretty dress. (Are you watching Downton Abbey? I’m hooooooooked!)

She found her ‘Big Chill’ reproduction refrigerator online, and the original 1950’s Caloric gas range on ebay, after a two year search! I also love how she worked with the soffit, beadboard and crown moulding. I never knew soffits could look so swell!

Lucky Ducky

Isn’t this the most unique little cradle you’ve ever seen? It had been rocking babies to sleep in Jute’s family for nearly 30 years by the time she was ready to have a baby of her own. Though it was missing some parts and slightly rat-chewed (fun!), she figured she could make it work. Only, then guess what happened? … She found an identical one for $20 in a thrift store! What are the crazy odds of that?! So she used it for donor parts and had her old cradle looking brand new in no time. I think fate or kismet or the patron saint of Goodwill had a hand in that. My Claim to Frame

Lindsey is a girl who has a great big boring mirror in her bathroom and would like to do something about it. Someday. Eventually. (hint: me) Another girl named Lindsay (but with an A) also had a great big boring mirror in her bathroom, and actually DID something about it. (not me. dangit.)

But I love this look! I’m pretty sure this is a project I could handle, and I’ve almost talked myself into it a few times. But then I remember it involves a bunch of measuring and angles and mathy stuff. Stuff that makes my brain wither up. Wither up into little uncooperative raisin. A raisin that is also crying. Um … sorry I’m not more of a motivational blogger. Look, pictures!
