Happy Friday! Sit back and relax, but don’t relax too much because I need your eyes to be open to drink in all the wonder they are about to behold.
Today we’re heading over to Jennifer’s home, which she has given a full top-to-bottom makeover in the short span of a couple years. Let’s take a peek at her dining room:
Um, did I just rip a page out of a magazine and tape it to your screen? No. First of all that is impossible, and secondly, this is is really real! This is what Jennifer gets to live in an look at everyday. I would never leave. Unless the kitchen was also equally as fabulous.
Oh hang on. It is.
It’s fantastic!
I love the roman shade (she made it herself!) I love the beams and the subway tile, and I immediately went on a search for ‘gray houndstooth runner’ because I need that rug in my life. I found one on Overstock, but the scale of the design is much bigger. Then I found one that looked right but it was a table runner. Then I remembered how McNasty the rugs in front of my sink always get, and then I wondered what the secret to keeping them looking non-disgusting is anyway?
I bet Jennifer knows. She seems to have her stuff together.
See her dining room makeover on her blog Dear Lillie , and more about her kitchen makeover here.

September 11, 2015 at 7:01 PMI have indoor/outdoor rugs in my kitchen. I think that is the secret. I have had them for a year and they still look new. If they get something spilled on them, a little water usually does the trick, but if not, take em outside and hose them off. Done!

September 13, 2015 at 1:01 PMFor a runner that you can clean easily, make, or have someone make, is a floorcloth. It can be made from primed canvas, or even easier, out of linoleum (painted on the underside). Prime either one, first for best results. Houndstooth is a pretty simple to design to recreate and cut a stencil of and sizing up or down the image. Best of all is that it can be made to the exact size you need. 🙂

September 17, 2015 at 7:47 PMI love the rug, too! She mentions that it was from Home Decorator’s Collection; I think this is it: http://www.homedecorators.com/p/houndstooth-area-rug/50/270/ It looks brownish-taupe on my screen but the reviews say it is actually gray.
