This is the true story … of seven strangers … picked to live in a house … and find out what happens … when housewares stop being polite … and start getting real … The Real World: Jamie’s Bedroom.
On this episode, Drab Wallcolor can no longer put up with Laundry Pile’s excessive drama. Flimsy Curtains and Matronly Lamps have a major blowup, upsetting the sensitive Book Stack. Antique Chest confronts Mismatched Bed Linens, annoyed with her laziness and lack of contribution to the household.
“You just lie there ALL DAY!”
“Get off my back, geezer!”
Something had to change. Something like … all of it.
Everything got the boot! Everything that is, except Antique Chest, who got herself a lead in the critically-acclaimed spin-off, Jamie’s Bedroom: Back from the Brink.

March 3, 2015 at 7:21 AMAnd the nightstands! They’re still the same. What an improvement! It’s awesome! It looks like something interesting is going on with the ceiling. I think the tray part of the ceiling should be painted teal (like that throw) to draw attention to it.

March 3, 2015 at 7:46 AMIsn’t it amazing how nice things look when they are tidied up and put away? I like the small improvements but cleaning and organizing have made the crucial difference here.

March 3, 2015 at 9:13 AMOk, that is one of the most amazing changes!
I’m thinking on changing my bedroom walls to white and now do feel it is the way to go.
So funny when we built 9 years ago I just had to get those new white walls painted a color!

March 3, 2015 at 12:35 PMWow,wow, wow!By painting the walls white that awkward ceiling transition(what is would you call that, a soffit?)just disappears! Changes the whole feel of the room.Nicely done! Amazing actually.

March 3, 2015 at 12:43 PMWhat a transformation! I love how bright and spacious it looks. I also love how simple yet sophisticated this space is and all the pops of color.

March 3, 2015 at 2:49 PMthis turned out really nice, I like that the furniture is the same but the walls are amazing, don’t be afraid of white walls ladies, where I come from (Europe that is) it has been the trend for centuries for a reason, it’s soothing to look at but fresh and cheery at the same time, actually my husband would think I’m crazy if I wanted to paint some wall beige or some other builder-neutral 🙂

March 3, 2015 at 5:16 PMI think she added picture frame moulding to the wall behind the bed or something very similar. It gives interest to the wall and serves as a headboard. The whole room is just beautiful!

April 29, 2015 at 7:54 AMI have only just discovered that you shared this because Pine Cone Hill shared it on their FB page so I had to come track it down and thank you! Oh my gosh, I wish I had gotten you to write my post for me! This was hilarious.
And yes, I agree. It is good just to clean up but you’ve gotta have a place to put all that junk, right? We moved into a foreclosure and the previous owners had stripped EVERYTHING. No closet rods, shelves, mirrors…you get it. So in addition to pretty room makeovers we’ve also had to do some very creative storage makeovers. And things got a little sketchy between projects, know what I’m sayin!
I love that Timea chimed in up there! If I could live in Europe with all of its white walls, I would move tomorrow. You can’t go wrong when something’s been in style for centuries! 😉
Thank you so much for sharing and your adorable post! Love it!
