Pointillism of No Return

Leila paints furniture for a living and was getting tired of playing it safe with white all the time. So she gave herself creative license to do whatever she darn well pleased on this buffet.

What would you have done? If you walked into a room and someone said handed you a rainbow of paint colors and this buffet (they have big hands or something I don’t know) and said “Go to town!” You know what, that’s a good idea for a party. You should do that for all your friends, gather them together and force them to makeover furniture in the name of fun.  Invite me to that party.

Anyway, Leila went with a Mediterranean-inspired pointillism design. Pointillism is the technique of creating an image with small dots, and here’s a tip: you’d better be really committed to your design, because you don’t want to get halfway through and decide you hate it and repaint over like, 30,000 dots.

But Leila’s turned out awesome! Such a fun and refreshing look.  Yay for trying something new! And nicely staged with the matching fruit, I have to say.

    I’m thinking that I may not be a Pointillism-ist. It’s certainly a change from white! 🙂
