Set in Stains

Pop quiz time! Let’s say you restore furniture for a living.  A client comes to you asking for a bright, modern makeover on this set of oak dressers.  You want to give her what she asks for, but you can’t stand the thought of covering up all that beautiful wood grain. Do you:

A. Paint it. Give the client what she wants.

B. Stain it. Insist that she doesn’t know what she wants.

C. Quit the restoring furniture business.  Go get a job at the zoo.

D. Work your makeover magic mojo and make everyone happy.

I’ll bet you can guess what Sarah at FunCycled did …

Sarah and her client were thrilled with the results of this ombre stain and teal treatment.  And check this out:

Now that’s just cool. I feel the need to go find a bunch of matching dresser sets today.

This is one of the coolest makeovers I’ve seen in a while. The only drawback is that the ombre and wood/paint effects are trendy and might not last. Course, then the owners can pay Sarah to redo them–win/win!

Really pretty! The wood looks great with the turquoise color.

Not sure about the second drawer, but otherwise WOW! Love the combination of the stain plus the color. AND a whole set that lines up like that??? A whole wall of awesomeness, or spread it around. Either way it’s fabulous!

I have been following your blog for a long time – first in google reader and now in bloglovin. About a month or 2 ago, something changed. Now, when I’m “nexting” through all the unread posts on blogs that I follow, whenever I get to your blog, the bloglovin frame disappears and I’m just on your page. I was just curious to see if you knew what changed. If you have it set that way for a reason, I understand, but I wanted to ask because it’s not as convenient as it used to be. Thanks!

That is strange! I haven’t heard anything about this before. I also use blog lovin and haven’t noticed any differences. I will check it out, thanks for the info.

It happens with your site and Knock Off Decor (and her other site too), but all my others are OK. Maybe something strange with my computer. Who knows! Thanks for the reply.
