Chairs. Chances are, you’re sitting in one right now. Or, possibly lounging in bed reading blogs on your device. Or standing in line at Target. Pssst, your kid just opened a pack of gum and ate it while you were playing on your phone. But listen. We’re not talking about devices, we’re talking about chairs. Chances are, you’ve sat in at least one today. Maybe you feel like giving a chair a makeover today? Here’s some inspiration if that’s the case:
Dena at Hearts and Sharts rescued this Renaissance-inspired chair that was not safe for sitting with some friendly red fabric. It’s super stellar.
Better After reader Peggy slipcovered this sweet slipper chair (say that five times fast) that belonged to her husband’s grandmother. I just love when sentimental items like this get an opportunity to keep living on in style. Plus, I didn’t even know you could make a tufted slipcover! Did you? Have you been holding out on me?

Deb at Lake Girl Paints decided to replace the padding on the backs of these chairs with individually painted strips of lath board instead. Ooooh, great effect. Don’t worry though, she didn’t sacrifice comfort, she made removable pillows too! Love that birdwatcher fabric as well. Fabulous job ladies!

July 31, 2014 at 7:01 PMHi, where can we find the link to Peggy’s grandma’s slipcovered chair on chairy crush? It’s lovely. thank you.

August 1, 2014 at 7:34 AMThe fabric for the slipcovered slipper chair is Duralee Home Fergana Ikat in Flame. The fabric is lightweight and slightly loose-woven, so I used iron-on tricot interlining before cutting the slipcover.

August 2, 2014 at 6:51 PMoooh, that last chair is especially awesome…the wood back is cool! Although I had to chuckle when I saw the removable cushion was made of burlap…make sure you’re wearing a thick shirt when you lean against it, I guess. :^)
