To quote the late great Michael Jackson: “If you want to make the world a better place, take a look at your laundry room and make a chaaaange! Hoo! HOO! Nana na, nana na, nana na naaaa!” His version might be slightly different. But, same principle. Just a small change can make a huge difference. Paint your laundry room, and you’ll improve your mood! Improve your mood, and you’re nicer to strangers. Be nicer to strangers, and you might make a new friend. Make a new friend, and you might find out his name is George Lucas. Become friends with George Lucas, who decides to cast you in his next movie. Become a movie star. See? That’s the power of paint.
Sabrina only changed a few things in here: paint, new shelves, cute accessories, and a skirt for the sink, and it already looks like a completely different room!
I love how the shelves hide those weirdly high outlets (I bet she cursed her builders everyday for that one!) and how she removed the dinky little cabinet and public-bathroom-esque backsplash. Grand total of this makeover? $60! See all the details on her blog Pink Little Notebook.

May 21, 2014 at 1:42 PMNothing like a pull-together laundry room to make you a movie star. That’s what happened to me.

May 21, 2014 at 4:28 PMNice laundry room. I really like the color she chose. Seeing this reminds me that I really need to finish my laundry room remodel that I started over a year ago. BTW – I think those weirdly high outlets wouldn’t look so out of place with a washer & dryer on 15″ pedestals. That’s the only reason I can think of for putting them up that high.

May 21, 2014 at 4:56 PMOh wow, I’d be washing anything I could get my hands on!

May 21, 2014 at 4:58 PMBTW, I think Marci’s right about the outlets. My SIL’s W/D set is really tall so you don’t have to bend down at all while doing laundry. I have to live with my little stackable in our laundry closet for now but that’s okay:)

May 21, 2014 at 5:48 PMThis would make me want to do laundry! Maybe.

May 22, 2014 at 7:41 AMBeautiful! But those weirdly high outlets are a good thing actually. If your laundry machine (or basement) floods, you don’t want outlets just a few inches off the floor.

May 23, 2014 at 6:28 AMThanks for sharing this before and after! We are moving into a new apartment and we’re starting completely over with furniture and decorations! And we have a small laundry room, so this gave me some great ideas!
