Happy St. Patrick’s Day to you! If I was a good blogger, I’d have a big round-up of green-themed makeovers to share, but I’m not and I don’t. I didn’t even know that today WAS St. Patrick’s Day, until my kids reminded me this morning. So I hustled downstairs to make green pancakes before they went to school, which they were happy to NOT eat because they had already eaten breakfast, but didn’t tell me that until after I had made a big stack of shamrock-shaped pancakes, which were 0% recognizable as shamrocks. At least my son went to school in a green shirt. A shirt that I’m pretty sure he slept in last night. Yep, I’ve got it together over here! I blame the newborn who never sleeps more than two hours at a time.
In other, more interesting news, check out this campaign dresser makeover by Better After reader Maribeth. It didn’t start out as a campaign dresser though, just a simple handmade dresser that her father-in-law had built over 30 years ago. It was high time for a fresh look, so she taped the edges and varnished the rest in red mahogany, then used L-brackets and new pulls for that campaign look. Love it!
PS: Have you entered the MyQ Garage giveaway? It’s one of the coolest products I’ve tried in a while, and it could be yours!

March 17, 2014 at 1:40 PMWasn’t it St. Pattys day last year that some crazed Leprechaun fan just about gouged your virtual eyes out because you forgot to be enthusiastic about this day of green?! You’d think you would have remembered this year just because of that! Haha! Or am I making up the whole thing and that never really happened?! Anyways, that makeover is amazing! I love it! And your baby is adorable …sorry he doesn’t sleep!

March 17, 2014 at 5:12 PMHahaha! Yes, that’s true! You would think that I’d have remembered it. I’m probably traumatized and blacked it out instead.

March 17, 2014 at 5:49 PMTop O’ the mornin’ to ya! That campaign ‘trunk’ looks terrific! I’m sure you could pack a few leprechauns in there no trouble ‘tall. To be sure, to be sure. Or perchance a few wee bairns of the non-sleeping variety. No, that ‘twould not be right at all. Ahhhh, ’tis all tooo much….I’m off to the pub for a stiff one. Slainte!

March 17, 2014 at 10:47 PMI tried to “that mom” today and dye the milk and toilet water green. I then spent the day reassuring my children that the little green man was in fact gone and all was well. I guess I won’t have to try so hard for any future holidays 🙂
I love this makeover! I’ve loved these dressers for a long time and this makes it feel more attainable!

March 18, 2014 at 12:28 PMHaha, cute ideas though! We did have green rice at dinner, which if course no one ate.

March 18, 2014 at 8:28 AMShe really did a great job! I have an affinity for campaign furniture. Actually, I do have green-themed campaign dressers (http://decorumdiyer.wordpress.com/2014/03/17/im-looking-over-four-drawered-clovers/). I really do like the wood look of the one showcased much better. It is also great that it is a family heirloom of sorts.
