If you’ve ever thought that your bathroom could benefit from some non-bathroomy furniture — such as a settee and a dresser — but then talked yourself out of that crazy nonsense, I’m here to tell you that you aren’t crazy at all. You’re a visionary! I would have never thought “Yes, an upholstered settee right outside of my shower door is just what this bathroom needs,” but take a look for yourself. It’s fab.
Of course, the furniture was just a small part of this bathroom’s mega makeover. Just about everything was ripped out and improved, thanks to the hard work of Cy, husband of Traci at Beneath My Heart. Two of the nicest people on the planet. We go way back.
But, truth be told, this isn’t even their bathroom; it actually belongs to their friend Robin, who enlisted Cy to relieve it from its outdatedness. I wish Robin was my friend, because I need this bathroom in my life. Or I guess I could just hire Cy too, if I wasn’t renting, and he didn’t mind commuting from Kentucky to Arizona.
Check out Traci’s blog Beneath My Heart for many more details of this beautiful room!

December 19, 2013 at 4:42 PMI’m sure at the time a big-ol’-take-up-all-the-space-in-the-bathroom-for-the-one-time-a-year-that-you-use-it tub was a smart idea. I love LOVE what they’ve done here. So wish I had a big-ol’-take-up … well you get the idea … tub I could remove. Maybe I can get my husband to install on then we could remove it? No? Oh well. Love the makeover here and love Traci’s blog too. Yours is the my go-to blog but hers in nice too.

December 19, 2013 at 5:58 PMI love it.
I have one question about cleanliness. How do you keep wainscot from getting totally nasty? Especially after children, umm like my three young boys, make a potty visit and even with their self-proclaimed “amazing-aim” don’t quite hit the target.

December 19, 2013 at 6:03 PMI know this is random but you could totally hide in the toilet nook until someone walked in then jumped out to scare the poo out of them! Look at that door how it creates a blind spot, a murderers dream come true. Other than that great bathroom makeover.

December 19, 2013 at 10:54 PMLove the colours and all that, hate the tub being torn out. I’m sure it’s better for their needs, but I would LOVE a big soaker tub. We’d use it all the time. We had one, once, and mom, dad and bub would have baths together every day. Nowadays, mom and dad would like a bath like that again. Calgon take me away! lol

December 20, 2013 at 4:29 PMOk my turn to be picky. A, If I were going to rip out a tub I would not put another one in where the shower is. I have lived with a step over the tub into the shower for over 10 years (previous owners decision to put that) and I hate it! Got several surgeries under my belt now and not once could I get in and out of the shower comfortably. B, I would never have any furniture that wasn’t designed for outdoor use. Even with super extractor fans you will still get mould and damp in the material and innards. I do like the floor tiles and the wainscoting though! Big job and a good job at that.
