Sooo, this is awkward to talk about, but I’m just wondering … is anyone out there? It’s been nothing but crickets over in the comments lately. Is anyone there? Does anyone care? A lot of my blogger friends are noticing the same thing. Page views are normal, but comments are down down down. Does nobody leave comments anymore?
I know it’s a busy time of year, but comments are like blood to bloggers, and I need a transfusion! I feel like I’m talking to myself in an empty room, and sooner or later those people end up in straightjackets. Anyway. Just a friendly encouragement to pop in and say “Hi!” once in a while! It really does make a difference. I appreciate all the comments I receive, and I love to hear from my reader friends.
I’m also trying to be more interactive both here and over on my Facebook page, where I love to chat and hear what you have to say. Come on over and hang with me!
Phew. I feel like I just asked the popular girl to prom.
Now that I’ve got that off my chest, let’s take a look at some makeovers that are sure to delight your senses. Deb at Lake Girl Paints has this colorful/beachy technique down cold. Her projects always look like they just magically floated onto shore.
And Natasha transformed this cheapo side table with a colorful selection of decorative trim. Fabulous idea! I’ll bet my bottom you could find scraps like that at any builder supply store for free or close to it.
See more of Natasha’s work on her page Trash and Treasure Creations.

December 3, 2013 at 2:12 PMNope. Not here.
Aw, just kidding. Personally, I’m just crazy busy and the first thing that goes is my blog reading and the second thing that goes is my blog writing. As I’ve not put up a post for about four weekdays you can see that I’m well into stage 2. And BTW, commenting is way down at my site too.
Excellent afters today by the way. I especially like that second one.
Lindsey @ Better After
December 3, 2013 at 2:21 PMAww, Erin, you are always good to leave a comment or two! I’m a bad blog reader lately myself. Life is busy!
whitney
December 3, 2013 at 2:12 PMI still leave comments! But sometimes I’m too lazy to enter in the other info so i skip it. lol Are you in AZ? I’ve read your blog for years and didn’t know you were in AZ?
Lindsey @ Better After
December 3, 2013 at 2:19 PMHaha, I’m totally guilty of that too. Or those spam verification thingies, I can never figure them out.
Lindsey @ Better After
December 3, 2013 at 2:20 PMOh yes, and I am in AZ!

December 3, 2013 at 2:16 PMHi! I take a look everyday, but never comment…. Love your blog!
Lindsey @ Better After
December 3, 2013 at 2:18 PMThanks so much for stopping by Suzanne!

December 3, 2013 at 2:17 PMLindsey! Perhaps it is the holiday season, I always consider writing comments and get sidetracked. Yours is one of the few blogs I can keep up with. Thank you so much for feeding my creative appetite! That kitchen to bedroom post was crazy! Who would do that?! No way it was up to code. And the cookbook collage? Yipes!
Amy
December 3, 2013 at 2:19 PMI LOVE Better After! I read it every day and I’m in New Zealand:) A lot of the time I see it come through my email with pictures but don’t always visit the actual site so I wonder if people do that too? My friends and I down here are addicted to your site!
Arlene
December 3, 2013 at 2:21 PMHi! Just read your comment about no one comments lately. I have been reading your blog for awhile now and love it! Unfortunately, I have only commented maybe once. I do love your blog and go to it every day but sometimes I’m in a hurry and don’t take the time to comment. Sorry about that! It must be very frustrating to do all you do on your blog, gathering up all those great photos to show us and then no one says anything! Just know that I really enjoy it and love to see what’s next on your blog every day.
Marcia
December 3, 2013 at 2:23 PMYou know we love you! Love your blog…but sorry, the colors on today’s items are not floating my boat. 🙂
Lois
December 3, 2013 at 2:23 PMI think it’s the season, commenting is way down on my blog as well. I don’t have any room to talk as I am trying to read and comment in spurts with so much going on here. But I had to stop to say Deb has another winner with that dresser. Her work puts my measly talents to shame.
Bethany
December 3, 2013 at 2:26 PMYep, we’re here. Love reading your blog every chance I get, and I refer to it when I’m looking for ideas. For me, it’s right up there with Pinterest, and that’s saying something. 🙂 Keep it up – we’re here!
Lynn
December 3, 2013 at 2:27 PMHi I’m here everyday!! December 3, 2013 at 2:27 PMI’ve experienced this too! HI!

December 3, 2013 at 2:27 PMHi! Totally guilty of reading blogs and never writing a comment. Sorry!
Love your before and afters, has inspired lots of projects, none of them yet started of course! I’ve got to get over the “painting over perfectly good wood” thing that seems to be going on in my house. And converting your US products to our Australian products, I’ve got to find a good paint shop . . . .
Mariah
December 3, 2013 at 2:27 PMI’m in the same boat as Suzanne. I read this blog every day but I never comment. I like to think of myself as a silent supporter. Which, on the internet, can seem a lot like nobody cares. But I love your site! I also love every shade of blue and green on these dressers. I’d do my whole house like this if I could.
Brit [House Updated]
December 3, 2013 at 2:29 PMHi Lindsey! I totally left a comment this morning (saying thanks so much for sharing my girlie’s bedroom!) but didn’t see it post. Weird. So maybe comments are getting eaten? Hate that!
xo, Brit

December 3, 2013 at 2:29 PMI am a daily visitor, but rarely comment. Why? Well, because I was always taught that if you don’t have anything nice to say, then don’t say anything at all. Don’t get me wrong. The makeovers take a lot of time and effort and skill and they’re very well done for the most part. They’re just not my taste in most cases. HOWEVER! I still love seeing the transformations and, even though I detest the weathered/shabby chic/faux distressed thing with the white-hot passion of a thousand suns, I find inspiration in what others accomplish and I find ways to apply different techniques/design to my own home.
Wow…that came across as a backhanded compliment when it really was meant to be kind. I’ll simply end by saying that I truly do adore your site and the vision of others in this world! Keep on keepin’ on, friends!
Lindsey @ Better After
December 3, 2013 at 3:07 PMHaha, thanks for your honesty G! So glad to have you here, and I’d much rather have someone NOT comment than say something like “Eww.” or “Hate it.” Those are the comments that get deleted!
Jeni
December 3, 2013 at 2:29 PMI read every day, just never comment. 🙂 I feel a little like Dr. Seuss’s Whos: “We are here, we are here!” Love the blog!
Lindsey @ Better After
December 3, 2013 at 3:07 PMThanks so much Jeni! 🙂
Michelle
December 3, 2013 at 2:35 PMI must admit, I’ve been following your blog for years, but don’t know if I’ve really ever left any notes 🙂
I have no idea if anyone reads anything I write! I barely get comments from anyone but spam
Lindsey @ Better After
December 3, 2013 at 3:09 PMWell thanks so much Michelle! I truly do appreciate it.

December 3, 2013 at 2:35 PMQuiet reader here! but love this site non the lesss!
Lindsey @ Better After
December 3, 2013 at 3:10 PMThanks Cayle! I’m a quiet reader myself sometimes too, so I know how it goes! 🙂

December 3, 2013 at 2:36 PMI always think I should say something more clever than “cool” or “great job.” So I rarely comment. I’ll try to keep in mind that bloggers actually like two-say conversation. 🙂
Lindsey @ Better After
December 3, 2013 at 3:12 PMI feel the same way sometimes too, or sometimes I won’t leave a comment if I see that a bunch of people have already said what I was going to say. But I’m sure the person who’s project is featured LOVES every “cool” or “great job” comment they get about their work, I know I would! 🙂
Robyn Hasty
December 3, 2013 at 2:36 PMYours is one of two blogs that I visit everyday, but I have never left a comment. We’re out here! Maybe just shy or too busy. Love, love, love your site!!! I’m hoping to send a few pics of my before’s and after’s to you soon! Thanks for all the inspiration!
Lindsey @ Better After
December 3, 2013 at 3:12 PMthank YOU for reading Robyn! Can’t wait to see your projects! 🙂

December 3, 2013 at 2:37 PMLove your blog and read it every day (I just posted on FB for you too – feeeel the love, beeeee the love, seeee the love. What I really want to know, is where are these people getting all these great pieces of furniture??? I have almost worn out my welcome at most thrift stores in my area and I’m on Craigslist more than Lucy’s Cousin Ernie is in the kitchen. I never find what I really want, end up settling, and most of the time it never turns out how I imagined. Kudos to all your submitters (submittors? submissioners? whatever!) for finding and creating such great stuff!
Lindsey @ Better After
December 3, 2013 at 3:13 PMFeeeeeeling the love! Thanks Carol! I would like to know the same thing, my Goodwill is basically an overpriced dumpster.
Karen
December 3, 2013 at 2:39 PMI don’t comment unless a piece really jumps out at me, but I enjoy looking at everything. I know it sounds lazy, but I also don’t really like having to scroll back up to the top of the story to click the “leave a comment” button. 😛 (I know, what a bum!) I miss the little doobies we used to be able to click that said hmmm, like, love, etc. This is still the first blog I check every day though. 🙂
Denise
December 3, 2013 at 2:39 PMKeep ’em coming!!! Love all the transformations!
Lindsey @ Better After
December 3, 2013 at 3:13 PMThanks so much Denise!
SarahN
December 3, 2013 at 2:39 PMI miss your ‘love, like hate’ buttons, cause I’m not a big commenter on these posts, sorry! I do read almost daily, so rest assured, I’m a silent committed reader.
Lindsey @ Better After
December 3, 2013 at 3:04 PMI miss those buttons too … can’t figure out how to put them back up now that I’m on wordpress…
Karen
December 3, 2013 at 2:39 PMHey, I do want to say though, that I really appreciate that your site doesn’t make me jump through hoops to sign in to comment. I love being able to just put in my name and email and not have to sign in to google or wordpress or somewhere weird.
Lindsey @ Better After
December 3, 2013 at 3:03 PMPreaching to the choir! I hate those things and usually give up halfway through, even if I’ve already written out some long and thoughtful comment!
Melissa
December 3, 2013 at 2:40 PMI have been following your blog for some time now all the way from Ontario, Canada and very much enjoy your posts. Keep up the great work!
Beth @ Sawdust and Embryos
December 3, 2013 at 2:43 PMI love that you just came out and SAID IT! Preach it sister. I admit that I NEVER left comments until a became a blogger myself and realize how important it was to the person writing. Granted, I still suck at it, but I totally try whenever I can!
Lindsey @ Better After
December 3, 2013 at 3:03 PMHaha, I don’t know why it gave me anxiety to say it. I’m not so hot at commenting either. Seems like a quick instagram or facebook comment is way easier, and I do try to do that.
JoAnne
December 3, 2013 at 2:45 PMI am here everyday but am also guilty of not commenting much. In my bloglovin feed I have a folder for my top 5 favorite blogs that I check even when time is tight & yours has always been one of the 5!!
Lindsey @ Better After
December 3, 2013 at 3:01 PMWow! That makes my day to hear! Thanks JoAnne 🙂

December 3, 2013 at 2:46 PMHa! I usually check your site out everyday. I love to see the before and after’s!
Thanks for posting!

December 3, 2013 at 3:00 PMThank YOU! I truly appreciate it!
Jill
December 3, 2013 at 2:48 PMI look at your site every day and love it. Your humor is fun and refreshing. Keep up the awesome job!
Lindsey @ Better After
December 3, 2013 at 3:00 PMAww, thanks so much Jill. Really means a lot!

December 3, 2013 at 2:49 PMI read through Feedly at work or on my phone, so I either have to be ready to click away quickly if my boss comes by, or can’t comment easily on my phone. I read every post but I’ll try to comment more in the future!
Lindsey @ Better After
December 3, 2013 at 2:59 PMI’m a phone-reader too, which is all but impossible to comment on. Thanks for your comment, I’m totally picturing you hiding under your desk from your boss! 😉
Mel
December 3, 2013 at 2:50 PM*waving* hello, I’m here 🙂
I am always busy and I rarely leave comments any more. It’s not intended to make you feel like you are alone, so I’m sorry.
Since Pinterest, blog comments have gone waaaaaaaaaaay down. The only people that leave comments now are people that I have developed friendships with over the last couple of years. The sense of community that once was, has been diminished by the easier method of pinning and moving on to the next blog. It also doesn’t help that so many blogs are filled with adverts and it takes forever to get to the actual content 🙂
Even when I tire of other blogs, yours always leaves me with a smile.
Lindsey @ Better After
December 3, 2013 at 2:58 PMAww, thank you so much! I think you are totally right, Pinterest makes it so easy to skip from blog to blog.
Kathy
December 3, 2013 at 2:52 PMI rarely leave comments on any blog, but I do love yours and look forward to your emails every day. Your writing almost always makes me laugh out loud. Just found you on Facebook too so I will probably comment more often there. 🙂
Lindsey @ Better After
December 3, 2013 at 2:57 PMThanks so much Kathy, I really do appreciate that! Facebook is a lot easier to interact on for me too.

December 3, 2013 at 2:52 PMHI Lindsey! 🙂
Lindsey @ Better After
December 3, 2013 at 2:56 PMRight back atcha!
Lynne
December 3, 2013 at 2:52 PMI read your blog every week day and love it. Sorry, I don’t normally comment. But I am today to let you know that I’m here.
Lindsey @ Better After
December 3, 2013 at 2:56 PMWell thanks so much Lynne! I truly appreciate it. I’m not a stellar commenter on the blogs I read either, it’s easy to overlook!
Rebecca
December 3, 2013 at 2:54 PMHello! I’m here and reading through feedly.
Kathryn
December 3, 2013 at 2:55 PMGuilty as charged. I am a blogger myself and should know better than to lurk silently, especially when I’m at a favorite blog. And yours is one of the few that I’ve followed that I read end to end, look at all of the pictures on, follow the links from, and often snort with loud laughter over so that my husband can hear me from down the hall and comes to see if I might need CPR.
So I thank you for all of the fun and inspiration and I apologize for being such a selfish pig. I’ll probably continue to be the latter, because even making a quick pass-through of my blogging connexions can take 3 hours a day easily if I’m taking my fellow bloggers seriously, and that’s time I don’t have. But you should know that I love what you do, and think you write with greater panache and wit than a whole boatload of supposedly writing-specific bloggers I’ve read and I will keep coming by here for the illumination and entertainment as long as you’re willing to share them.
THANKS! (Sorry to yell, but I just wanted to see if there was an echo in here since you said it’s been so lonely.)
Cheers to you,
Kathryn
Katy
December 3, 2013 at 2:55 PMI’ve been reading every day for the past year. I don’t leave a lot of comments because I don’t feel I have anything really to contribute but I will try to be better! 🙂
Thanks for all you do! Love seeing all the wonderful projects!
Denette
December 3, 2013 at 2:55 PMGlad you asked for some feedback rather than suffering in silence. I subscribe to a few blogs but rarely comment. Some because I can’t do it without jumping through hoops like Karen mentioned above. I really don’t comment on any but that doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy them. The comments from G are funny, what a way with words she has. I also am not a huge fan of the shabby chic sanded look, mainly because I can never figure out how to make it look right in the home I have. Even so I do love seeing the transformations. I love the way you have it simply with the before and after, with your witty lead ins, and I can read more on the persons blog if I want more. I have subscribed to a few blogs based on their being on your blog. Another reason I don’t comment is some blogs get hundreds of comments, how can you even begin to read them? So I just enjoy silently. So know that I enjoy your writing and your blog, I will try to post a comment now and again.
Chantell Patrick
December 3, 2013 at 2:55 PMSo sorry ma’am. You are awesome though, I look forward to your email notifications like a new and tiny magazine in my inbox.
Andrea
December 3, 2013 at 2:56 PMI’m here, I even pin, but I think all the commenters have gone over to instagram or sumpthin’ 😉 Lindsey. Be good to yourself
Helene S
December 3, 2013 at 2:56 PMYes, I’ll go to the prom with you!
Denette
December 3, 2013 at 2:57 PMI should also add that your blog is very inspiring to see what others are doing. I especially like the reader posts, I figure they are more like me than someone who publishes a blog or who sells their stuff. Your blog helps me remember what is possible and fun to keep in mind as I work on my next project.
Chiara
December 3, 2013 at 3:00 PMHi! I read every post – you’re right at the top of my feed reader and I liked you on FB. I have even gone back through the archives looking for kitchen inspiration. It’s true – I hardly comment on blogs anymore. Maybe it’s because it’s more effort than making a FB comment or a “like”? But most of the time my comment wouldn’t be much more than, “Hmm, interesting.” Or, “cool, but I wouldn’t do it that way.” But sometimes it’s “wowy-zowy, that color!” (peacock side table?) I’ll try to remember to like on FB on those ones that go pop for me.
Jean
December 3, 2013 at 3:02 PMI scroll through my blogs and read your first!
Shannon
December 3, 2013 at 3:03 PMI am here! I read you every day – i just rarely comment. Don’t ever stop blogging. Seriously. Like ever.
Alison
December 3, 2013 at 3:04 PMWow these replies are weird! This format actually makes it really hard to have a conversation in here. Maybe if there was a reply heirarchy there would be more comments! Lindsey, my boss was actually right behind me while I was writing that last comment, but it’s the end of the day and it was fine this time. 🙂
Fran
December 3, 2013 at 3:05 PMI hope you get lots of comments from this post. I love reading your blog and am very guilty of not leaving comments. Your blog always picks me up and gives me inspiration.:)
Jessica
December 3, 2013 at 3:07 PMI absolutely LOVE your page and enjoy the emails, witty posts, and facebook. I even set up a folder to save all of your posts to reference later. I think you’re doing a great job and we are still out here.
Merry
December 3, 2013 at 3:09 PMI’m here too! I love this place, Lindsey, and visit almost daily. Please don’t stop talking to yourself! 🙂
Karon
December 3, 2013 at 3:14 PMI’m here! Love your blog!! You are so funny and I love makeovers of every kind. 🙂
Betty
December 3, 2013 at 3:15 PMI usually don’t leave comments, but I wanted to respond to this one. Yes, I am reading! I open it up as soon as I see it. I have gained so much inspiration from your blog in seeing what other people are up to that I have started to gather projects of my own. My garage is now the resting place of a dresser, coffee table, a night stand and a chair, all in need of a loving redo. So thank you. I look to you and other bloggers to get my creativity going.
Janet
December 3, 2013 at 3:16 PMI read every day 🙂
Louise
December 3, 2013 at 3:17 PMI’m one of those silent readers. =) I LOVE this blog, though, and read it constantly. When we moved to our own home 2 years ago, I tried a LOT of ideas out that I first saw here on your blog. I love my cream striped laundry room, and my bead board chair rail in the bathroom …. and the repainted pink-striped dresser my girls now have. =) Maybe I should send you some pictures ….
Jennifer
December 3, 2013 at 3:17 PMHey Lindsey, I love your site and check it out daily! I hardly ever leave a comment but I should start leaving some.
Angie
December 3, 2013 at 3:20 PMI’m here but I read through Feedly & never click through to the site. Keep the posts coming! Love seeing the before & afters & also the wittiness in your writing! 🙂

December 3, 2013 at 3:20 PMHi I love receiving you bog in my inbox daily, I’m so inspired by all the talented
people out there, thank you for sharing.

December 3, 2013 at 3:26 PMI’m here. I updated my computer to the 8.1 and at the same time it seems google screwed up youtube. I still haven’t figured out the comments on that. I am not new to facebook…I’ve had an account for about a year or so- don’t know how that works either! But I love your blog- read it faithfully. I promise to comment more. Most of my house is altered furniture. Wish I had taken before pictures. I could join in the fun. I appreciate all you do. I crack up at the fun things you say and read your blog to my daughter while she drives home from work. My other daughter follows you also. Just don’t stop! We are here!
Jen
December 3, 2013 at 3:27 PMGuilty as charged! I really should show you more comment love because I look forward to your emails everyday! I really love what you do. Maybe one day I will submit a project of my own to you, if I ever remember to take before pics ; )
Anibart
December 3, 2013 at 3:27 PMI LOVE LOVE your blog! I get your daily feeds through my email and look forward to reading them each day. Because I read them there, there isnt a place to leave a comment! I have gotten so many great ideas from you blog!!! Thanks for everything!!!
Melita
December 3, 2013 at 3:28 PMI also am a silent reader! I check your blog out every day. I have TONS that I have bookmarked, but yours is one of the few that I read every single day! I am sorry I have never commented! Keep up the good work!
Kristen
December 3, 2013 at 3:28 PMI have actually never commented on a blog post before. But today, I’m taking a stand against “window shopping” on blogs. I promise promise promise to comment more! I really appreciate your blog Lindsey!! We just bought a new house and because of your collection here, I have decided to furnish it as much as possible from thrift stores!
andria
December 3, 2013 at 3:30 PMI’m not a very active commenter, and I’m sorry about that, because I love your blog, and when I read emails in the morning I open your posts right away! You have a fun, lively sense of humor and perspective that I totally look foward to, and all the up-cycling and remodling you feature here is instant inspiration! I’ve started following you since the summer time, so I’m a new fan, but I loved the Ugly Lamp Contest, and adored the post you did with the saftey glasses (featuring the photoshopped *bling* necklace)–I literally laughed out loud, so clever and funny! What do you is important, and uplifting, and appreciated. Thank you for reminding me to tell people that more often. 🙂
Cindy
December 3, 2013 at 3:31 PMI read your blog everyday but have never left a comment. Thanks for all the creative projects you share with us.
Melanie
December 3, 2013 at 3:37 PMI keep forgetting you have comments. On my screen the line that includes comments is teeny tiny, easy to miss. Also I’m kind of in the habit of looking for comments at the bottom of a post after I’ve read it, and don’t always think to specifically check for them at the top.
But I’m out here, read pretty much daily, and love your blog. 🙂
Kim
December 3, 2013 at 3:37 PMI follow you on facebook and pop in everytime there’s a post. I just never comment, sorry! I love seeing all the transformations.
Connie K
December 3, 2013 at 3:37 PMI too am a regular reader but rarely comment. I LOVE LOVE LOVE your blog and look forward to the emails every day. I have saved so many for inspiration! You even have your own separate file! Lol!
Rebecca
December 3, 2013 at 3:43 PMI hear ya! I never get comments anymore 🙁 But my stats show lots of reading everyday. I get your posts emailed to me, which is why i dont usually comment. Love your blog though!
Sara Bonert
December 3, 2013 at 3:48 PMI have an RSS feed of your posts sent to my inbox, which is where I read them. So it is an extra click for me to come over and comment, which I do when I really love something or have a question. But I love your site, sorry I don’t comment more! Keep the posts coming! 🙂
Deb-IL
December 3, 2013 at 3:49 PMI read every day, but rarely comment – I figure YOU’RE the popular girl and I’d just be one of many comments on your list too read !! Love your quirky (ok, sometimes bizarre!) way of looking at things – always a fun read.
Leslie
December 3, 2013 at 4:02 PMAlways look, rarely comment. I never tackle a single thing I see here but I love before/after stuff so was thrilled when I found your blog. And you write well so your posts are fun to read. Keep it up!
Lauren
December 3, 2013 at 4:05 PMHi!! Always reading, never commenting. Guilty :/ But I love your blog and all the features you share. I get my daily inspiration fix from you, keep up the good work!
Lindsey
December 3, 2013 at 4:15 PMI also switched to feedly when Google reader disappeared, and it’s almost impossible to comment via feedly. It erases comments all the time and I get frustrated and give up. I also hate some of the commenting systems that other blogs use and sometimes I won’t be able to leave a comment because they will not verify me. The mobile version of your blog is hard to navigate to boot and it doesn’t even show me a way to comment. I switched to desktop view for this and it was hard to find.
All that said, I love your blog! I just wanted to share why I or others may not be commenting across the blogosphere.
Desarae
December 3, 2013 at 4:16 PMHey! Just wanted to say, yes, I’m still here! I get your posts emailed to me, and I read them when they come, but it is just crazy busy during the holiday season and I’m falling behind on my own blogging, let alone reading and commenting on other peoples! Keep it up, enjoy your transfusion, it looks like you sure wracked up the comments. 🙂
Amy Lynn
December 3, 2013 at 4:18 PMI’m here too. I just haven’t had much of anything to say to anyone lately, either verbal or typed. 🙂
Kathy
December 3, 2013 at 4:32 PMLove and appreciate your blog!
Lindsay M.
December 3, 2013 at 4:41 PMI’m a total lurker who is guilty of never leaving comments (well, maybe I have once or twice). But believe me when I say your blog is my absolute fave! Seriously, it’s the only one I check regularly, no lie. Your writing cracks me up and the projects are fabulous. Don’t stop, keep it up!! I would wither and die without Better After! (OK, probably not, but if I was the kind of person you wouldn’t want me as a fan anyway. Creeeeeepyyyyy.)
Lindsey
December 3, 2013 at 4:52 PMHey there! I’m a lurker, admittedly, but wanted to give you some encouragement. I LOVE YOUR BLOG! I use feedly and never miss one of your posts. Keep on keeping on!
Emily C
December 3, 2013 at 4:54 PMI love your blog, even though I never comment! I want to say something optimistic like, we’re always there with you, but I can’t find a way to make it less creepy. So there’s that…

December 3, 2013 at 5:03 PMI hardly ever comment on 99% of the blogs I read either because everyone else is saying the same thing as I would…or, if I don’t agree with what’s said, I won’t say anything. I was taught, if you can’t say something nice, then don’t say anything at all.
Now, having said that…I LOVE your blog…and one day, I’ll have the space to actually try some of these things myself!
Hugs from the Great Southern Land!
Linda
December 3, 2013 at 5:13 PMI’m a card-carrying member of the Lurker Brigade, so comment guilt does not usually does not work on me. Unless it’s you! I need Better After every morning. I read via Feedly. Signed, a loyal and appreciative reader in San Diego.
Kat
December 3, 2013 at 5:15 PMI LOVE your site, but never have anything brilliant or witty to write, so I skip the comment section. I’m a silent stalker, i guess:)

December 3, 2013 at 5:16 PMIt is the time of the year! But still checking in every day! Love the inspiration just getting to chilly outside to do a whole lot and the holidays keep me ubber busy!
Linda
December 3, 2013 at 5:17 PMHold on, rented fingers: meant to say, “comment guilt does not work on me” and that I dig your writing.
sara
December 3, 2013 at 5:18 PMLindsey, I am an (relatively!) old woman and the first blog site I ever found was yours. I think it is brilliant and I have referred many friends to it. And, though I now look at the blogs of others, yours is the only one I consistently visit.
I have noticed some changes. It seems the “categories” you once had are gone. The other day I was looking for armoire inspiration and that really came home to roost. I also notice your “buttons” (? Like I say, this is all new to me) where I could check out the blogs of others you recommend are gone. Ironically enough now I go to one of them and click back to you from it.
Finally, I have only commented once and that was on your facebook page. I think you are a brilliant and clever writer and wrote to tell you as much. I know this is about decor…but you are the most talented blogger I have ever encountered (I even go to your Sunday Cakewreck link because I enjoy your writing so much!). My comment never made it or was taken off the page (maybe out of modesty?) . That was the first and last comment I ever made on a blog.
Marci
December 3, 2013 at 5:38 PMI generally only comment when I really like something or when I feel really strongly about something (like painting over beautiful veneer on MCM furniture). I have very particular tastes, though, and I don’t like to post anything negative because I know that the bloggers you feature also read the comments, and just because I don’t like something, that doesn’t mean that it’s not good for someone else. Also, I know from experience that projects don’t always turn out the way we envisioned them and are usually a lot more work than expected.
I have so many unfinished projects at home that I applaud anyone who actually completes one and is proud enough to share it with everyone (even if it’s not something I’d care to put in my house). 😉 One of these days I’ll finish something and I promise to send you pictures! 🙂
Courtney
December 3, 2013 at 5:41 PMI love your blog! I read through Feedly, so I rarely click through to any blog and comment. 🙂
Heather
December 3, 2013 at 5:47 PMI NEVER comment on any blogs I read! Please be assured that people are out there and they are reading your blog! I love it and look at every post, but feel as if I “bother” bloggers if I comment!
Belle
December 3, 2013 at 5:48 PMOk, guilty as charged! Sorry! I LOVE your blog. If I read nothing else, I pop in to get a smile recharge…. your wit always flips my frown upside down.
Keep it up!
Maria
December 3, 2013 at 5:48 PMI comment all the time so I won’t comment now….oh…..I just did. 😉 You KNOW we loves ya, Lindsay!
Janet
December 3, 2013 at 5:48 PMEek! I check your site every single morning and love love love it! I don’t comment unless I have something very special to say besides love it : )

December 3, 2013 at 6:02 PMYour blog rocks…after following you for maybe 2 years??? cant remember how long –I look at furniture w/a different eye!!! very motivating & inspirational to check out on a daily basis….Many Thanks & Happy Holidays to you!

December 3, 2013 at 6:02 PMI read your blog every day. Love the creativity!
Domanique
December 3, 2013 at 6:13 PMI guess this is the time to come out of the closet seeing as I rarely post on blogs. i honestly love your blog and love seeing all the afters especially since I am constantly refinishing everything! love you and your blog!
Lynda
December 3, 2013 at 6:32 PMI LOVE your blog as does my sister and daughter. Like others, life is too crazy busy to write. I haven’t even updated my blog in two months. But I AM reading them each day.
Michelle
December 3, 2013 at 6:35 PMI enjoy this blog quite a bit, although I admit that not all of the makeovers appeal to my taste. But I like seeing what kind of makeovers people do. I rarely comment on blogs anymore because I am reading through Feedly, so commenting takes an extra step to go to the actual site. (I’m not sure if it’s the same with Bloglovin or not.) I feel like this is a part of the drop in blog comments. I wish the comments were readable and writeable through these blog reader apps!
Nicole
December 3, 2013 at 6:47 PMI stop by your site at least once a day, sometimes more. Some of the photographs you have posted have been great inspiration for me to get things done around my house. I don’t comment much on blogs so I miss the old feature you had to like or not like a makeover you posted. But I’m still here too. Love this blog. Keep on keepin’ on Lindsey.
Claire
December 3, 2013 at 6:49 PMHi! I have recently discovered your blog. I got the address from a friend, and read your posts for a while before I realized that our little sisters were friends back when they were in elementary school! I’m pretty sure you graduated a year ahead of me. Anyhow, great blog! I love the pictures and am impressed by your witty writing. Cheers! ~Claire Porter (maidenly Aldrich)

December 3, 2013 at 6:56 PMWell, now that everybody ELSE is chiming in, I’ll join the crowd. I just haven’t seen much that warranted a comment from me. I’ll be more attentive, Lindsey! Promise!
Bets
December 3, 2013 at 6:58 PMLOVE your blog. Love. It. Honestly, until now I didn’t know you had a comment feature because I always expect that to be at the bottom of a post. It took me a while to find the little “comments” button at the top. I read every post. I like to save them up and read a week’s worth at a time. Even if I don’t like some of the design choices, I find all of them so inspiring. In fact, I was inspired so much I bought a $25 dresser off of Craig’s list over the summer. Now… if I could only decide how to refinish it… xo Bets

December 3, 2013 at 7:03 PMok this is my official first blog post. I maybe wouldn’t even have bothered now, but I get ‘cha. I write for our local newspaper on shelter pets, and I rarely hear a snicker about it, but once in a while – when I least expect it, someone will come along whom you never expected and will reveal to you they NEVER miss an article. As if they are actually a fan or something. LOL. Well, that’s me – I read your blog EVERY DAY and I LOVE it. It has gotten me off my rear and reduced my fear to try new things. Since reading your blog, I have been inspired to recover two chairs and a couch, paint a dining room table, a china hutch, my kitchen cabinets … and I’m just gettin’ started :). Your’s is the only blog I read and have saved on my desktop. So keep on shining Lindsey. You never know the people out there you encourage every single day.

*ashamed for not commenting!*

December 3, 2013 at 7:05 PMYour blog is on my favorites list! I read it everyday but don’t usually comment. I love painting furniture and re-purposing items in my own home and use your blog as source of inspiration. Keep up the good work!!

December 3, 2013 at 7:28 PMI’m here every day reading your blog, which I love as I’m interested in furniture and room makeovers. We are currently planning our house renovation, which includes furniture. ps I’m in Australia.
JD Georgia
December 3, 2013 at 7:29 PMI read your blog every day and I LOVE it! I haven’t actually made over anything yet, but I view every piece of furniture through a different lens now, and have accumulated THREE free chairs with the intent of Better-After-ing them. (When I do, I’ll send you pics.) I find your blog so inspiring I even recommended it once at a presentation by an Interior Designer. (Note the caps on the term “interior designer.” She was not an ordinary decorator.) Anyway, during the Q&A period someone asked a question for which I didn’t think the ID had an adequate response so I said, “Head on over to Better After. You’ll find what you’re looking for.” So why don’t I comment? I guess I just never have anything to add; but don’t feel lonely, I’m here looking forward and reading and appreciating you every day.
Kat Moss
December 3, 2013 at 7:35 PMWell, here’s another comment, so now you have lots to read! I love your blog and am always excited when a BETTER AFTER pops into my inbox. I have to say that I also like your dialogue with all the pics! Keep up the good work – we are out here and will try to comment more! Happy Christmas!
Kate
December 3, 2013 at 7:42 PMI’m a faithful reader of your blog, but rarely comment (on any blogs) mostly because I’m lazy. Ha! I wanted to be sure to tell you that you are hilarious and very talented at what you do. Keep it up!

December 3, 2013 at 7:54 PMHi! I take a look almost everyday, but never comment…sorry about that! So many amazing transformations, I just love stopping by!

December 3, 2013 at 8:10 PMhere. love the blog. love love love. I’ll try to comment 🙂

December 3, 2013 at 8:12 PMWell it looks like you got lots of readers and now lots of comments. I love your blog but lately I just don’t have much time. I’m still just skimming my favorite blogs but don’t have as much time to comment. Hang in there, looks like everyone is still looking!!:)
bev
December 3, 2013 at 8:14 PMI see your blog every day. I’ve left a few screwball comments here and there over the years. Ugly Lamp contest usually gets me going. I still have nightmares about that creepy skull “lamp” thing. ewww
Love your blog. You’ve always been kind to respond. Most bloggers don’t respond so you feel like your comment is just sitting out there and you look like a stalker or someone who invites themselves to sit at the lunch table with the cool kids. What’s the etiquette here?
While some of the makeovers are not my taste, I love your wit. You never fail to amuse. Thank you 🙂
Lisa S
December 3, 2013 at 8:16 PMI get email notifications….one day I will email pics of my before and after pics..if I ever do any of the projects of which this blog has been the inspiration.
Cecily
December 3, 2013 at 8:44 PMI’ve followed your blog for a little while but never comment. I only check two blogs and yours is the one I actually take time to read. Love the pictures and the before and afters but I also think your quite hilarious. Keep up the good work!
Cindy
December 3, 2013 at 8:50 PMI check out your site several times each week, but have never left a comment. Don’t know why….just never considered it. I’m more of an observer unless you want to talk about religion or politics… 😉
Staci
December 3, 2013 at 8:56 PMI always save the “best for last” meaning your blog is the last one I read (and look forward to most) before going to bed each night. Keep the before and afters coming!
Ashley
December 3, 2013 at 9:04 PMLove the blog but don’t like having to scroll back up to the top of the post to leave a comment.
Cody
December 3, 2013 at 9:04 PMWe love you Lins :)! I just never thought how much a comment meant to said blogger like yourself, it does make sense now that I think about it. I also did not want to come off as an unhealthy stalker because I may then need to admit I need intervention. I check your site multiple times a day IN HOPE AND PRAYER that there is a new post. When I do not see there is a post I become angry and want to drive to your house to *cough* tie you up in a chair and force you to create a blog *cough* ergh….have a cup of tea with you…ahem. Anyways thanks for having this wonderful blog and having great taste in what you show us. One of my favorite things are your witty titles and how hilarious your writing is.
Nicole
December 3, 2013 at 9:25 PMI read blogs on my iphone and I HATE typing out a comment on my phone, so I rarely leave one. However I do love reading your posts and will try to do it more often 🙂

December 3, 2013 at 9:27 PMlove the square drawers transformation. so different.
LeeAnn
December 3, 2013 at 9:36 PMWe love you. We really really love you.
I would design a whole room around that side table in the second before/after. It’s ghetto cat’s mow.
LeeAnn
December 3, 2013 at 9:39 PMGhetto??? It should read *the.
Olivia
December 3, 2013 at 9:50 PMI think I might have an idea as to why you’re not seeing as many comments (it may have been mentioned above). When Gmail changed its format your emails started going to the Promotions tab. Maybe people are forgetting to look there. I haven’t figured out a way to get your emails coming to my Primary tab yet. If you know – please tell me!
Anyway! I’ve never commented before but your blog is my favorite! I always look forward to it and it’s the only reason I check my Promotions tab. 🙂
joanne
December 3, 2013 at 9:56 PMlooks like you got some comments today…guilt trip worked!! I have been thinking the very same thing…lots of page hits but only 2 or 3 comments. Makes me feel kinda like the kid no one wants on their team. boo-hoo.
Cody
December 3, 2013 at 10:06 PMLol Leeann, I rather like your inadvertent by accident invention of a new phrase, if you do not mind I will forever borrow the ghetto cat’s meow.
Kristen
December 3, 2013 at 10:18 PMYour site is the best ever! We’re moving to a new house soon and because of your amazing collection of creativity and style I have resolved to furnish the entire house with thrift store finds. Thank you!
Sandi
December 3, 2013 at 10:40 PMSorry for not commenting more! I LOVE your blog; it always brightens my day. The transformations you choose to feature are great and I love your clever comments. Keep ’em coming!
Katy
December 3, 2013 at 11:06 PMI definitely need to comment more. I forget how important that is! Definitely still an avid reader of your blog.
Shelly Turley
December 3, 2013 at 11:27 PMLindsey! I have heard forever about your site….and think I maybe stumbled on it finally quite some time ago…now that I know you….I am putting these 2 things together and WOW….this is YOU!! I had no idea!! I am absolutely in LOVE with all of it! Now I need to have you over and have you look at one of my antique dressers that I keep debating on passing on to someone else because it needs some love and desperate help….but I LOVE the huge deep drawers and it has emotional value to me BUT I am soooo not gifted in this department so have no idea what to do with it! Hmmmm….I think I need to make you dinner or lunch oneday so I can bribe you over here 😉
Hexotica
December 4, 2013 at 12:07 AMWOW! Looks like you are getting a massive transfusion now!
I am 100% guilty of absolutely loving your blog and reading it almost every day–yet rarely (if ever?) wrote a comment! I think it’s because it’s such a visual blog that it doesn’t often stimulate me into wanting to say anything! I’m very sorry! Please keep up the good work–and I will comment more often, I promise! 🙂
Shelly
December 4, 2013 at 12:10 AMI’m here, I’m here!! I’m reading & enjoying!! I think with me, is that I Pin first, and tend to comment second. And in between, I can get distracted 🙂
I will do better! I do not want you to become anemic!!
Sarah
December 4, 2013 at 12:13 AMLindsay! I read about every single one of your posts. I realized I haven’t commented in a while because I often click through and say how much I love the person’s work on the original blog. But you deserve comments, too! You find such great things to share and always make me laugh!
Shaleeta
December 4, 2013 at 12:22 AMI always always read your blog– sometimes check back three times a day! It’s fantastic, and I have no idea why I don’t tell you so more. Anyhow, keep up the great work!
Linda Johnson
December 4, 2013 at 3:45 AMI’m not really here either. But then I’m not usually there, come to think of it !
But I do enjoy the posts.

December 4, 2013 at 4:50 AMHi!
I have never commented before, but I read you regularly!
Maybe part of the problem is that we use readers (feedly, etc) which make us (at least me) less prone to comment?
I’m sorry you felt alone, but with more than a hundred coments now, I’m sure that feeling is gone! You are not alone, we like what you do and appreciate your work!
Thank you!!
Keren
December 4, 2013 at 5:01 AMI just discovered your site this week and I really enjoy reading; for the fun make-overs and your great blogging too.
I am guilty of silent stalking, and it’s a great reminder that comments are appreciated…. hint taken and will certainly try harder to hit the send button.
Many thanks and please keep up the good work! 🙂

December 4, 2013 at 5:47 AMYo! Love your site and have for a long time. I just don’t comment often.

December 4, 2013 at 6:14 AMsorry, I will stop being a creeper and will comment.
I share a coffee with you most mornings and you ALWAYS entertain, I will return the love!
Beverly Korkowski
December 4, 2013 at 6:28 AMI hear your pain! I do a daily blog for my husband’s side of the family, and there are weeks and weeks on end without comments. My reaction is the same as yours…’is anyone out there? Why am I using my precious time to do this if no one would miss it?’ And, then as if some little spy is onto me, there will be ‘fillers’ in my inbox of things to use on the blog…or someone will leave a comment. It’s always just enough for the little guilt about stopping the blog to go away!
And, as for your blog, it is one that I check every day and LOVE! Have always been a big fan of re-use and re-purposing. Can’t even tell you how many, many pieces of furniture I’ve dragged home over the years for my husband to refinish. Now, as we downsize our lives, I no longer can bring these gems home so your blog gives me that ‘fix’ I need. Hang in there, girl….we are out here!!
Jake's a Girl
December 4, 2013 at 6:38 AMYep. Here. I read every time there is a new post cause you’re so dang funny. I don’t post a lot but I do read. Oh and I love the before and after’s, too. 😉

Lindsey Wolfe
December 4, 2013 at 6:53 AMI read every day, but get lazy and don’t comment. But really the main reason I read your blog is that you spell your name correctly. Lindseys with an E UNITE!! 🙂 Okay that isn’t really the main reason. I’m hoping that one of these days I will have the guts to actually makeover a few pieces hiding in my basement and a piece hiding in my garage. But I’m a chicken!
Melissa
December 4, 2013 at 6:55 AMHello there! I love that second side table’s makeover! I read your blog every day but never really take the time to comment- SORRY!! I love your blog!
Kim
December 4, 2013 at 7:09 AMI love your blog but don’t think I’ve ever commented before. Your blog is always my first read of the day. keep up the good work.
Kate
December 4, 2013 at 7:09 AMI’m a daily viewer, but a non-commenter as well! I love your posting and your quirky writing style. Sometimes I feel I’m reading something I would’ve written if I had the drive/time/focus/[insert other excuses] to have a blog running.
Cheryl
December 4, 2013 at 7:14 AMHi Lindsay, I love your blog! My daughter first sent me the link to your site and I’ve been hooked ever since. I have to tell you though, since the last time you redesigned the site (changed web hosting services?), I have really missed the old format – that was a huge draw. I started out every day visiting your site, then clicking on the links to other bloggers you had in the right margin. It’s like every journey begins with a first step, and you were my first step every day!
Susan
December 4, 2013 at 7:19 AMI am a daily (sometimes more than once) reader, and I love your blog and think you are a wonderfully funny writer! Maybe the extra click is why I don’t comment now that I think about it. I never realized how lazy I am! 🙂
Aubrey
December 4, 2013 at 7:32 AMLove your blog, Lindsey! It’s my favorite one! Not only are the before and afters impressive, but your commentary is hilarious! Thanks for posting!
Maple Girl
December 4, 2013 at 7:32 AMI love reading your posts and seeing befores and afters. I really love it when you do how-to’s. I wish you did more how-to’s with furniture. ^_^
Keep posting, I’ll keep reading. I guess, based on the amount of comments you have, you got a transfusion. ^_^

December 4, 2013 at 7:41 AMIf bloggers respond to comments, I comment, but if I comment over and over and never get anything back, I go to being just a reader. Makes me feel like a kid trying to be popular when I leave comments time and time again with no response!
laura
December 4, 2013 at 7:44 AMI’m here! And I love your blog I read it every day and you always make me laugh 🙂 I’m just to lazy to comment
Jacki
December 4, 2013 at 7:44 AMI love your website. One day I’ll get off of my butt and work on a project that would be worthy to send to you!

December 4, 2013 at 7:49 AMThanks for everything. It is appreciated. You are on my daily check-in list.
Today I will make a comment on every blog I love.

December 4, 2013 at 7:56 AMHi!
comment in English gives me so much trouble 😉
But I’ll try to do it more often.

December 4, 2013 at 8:03 AMI’m here too — I’m more of a lurker/reader. I do know what it feels like though to be void of comments – it’s bad. 🙁 I’ll try to comment more! I so appreciate this blog!
Pam @ Simple Details
December 4, 2013 at 8:12 AMSorry, sweet friend!! You’re on my blogroll and I never miss a post! So fun to see everyone chiming in to send you some blog love! 🙂

December 4, 2013 at 8:34 AMwow. Ok i think I just scrolled for 10 minutes to get down here. I just wanted to add a bit of encouragement. I know the feeling of knowing that people or looking but no comments. I love your blog! It’s a daily inspiration to try my hand at a little redo. I’m currently searching for the perfect desk to redo. Haven’t found it yet. Keep up the great posts!
Heather K Miller
December 4, 2013 at 8:46 AMI laughed out loud at the asking the popular girl to prom line. I laugh out loud EVERYDAY when I read your blog. Although, like many said, I usually read it on my phone so commenting is usually out for me. But I am here and do love it and I just love you and your wit!:)
Rachel Stecklein
December 4, 2013 at 8:52 AMOMG, I love your blog!! When you take a short hiatus or I have to spend time away from the internet, I have withdrawals. I don’t think I’ve ever really commented because I feel silly being some random person commenting, but I love checking your blog every day,=. It’s part of my routine and I send links to your blog to my family and friends all the time. I love the pictures, but your writing and humor are just so perfect too. I feel like I know you. 🙂 Keep up the awesome blogging and thanks for motivating and inspiring me to be more creative.
Ashley
December 4, 2013 at 9:19 AMSorry, I am a lurker I guess. I love your blog but never leave comments because I just like to look at the pictures and think, wow, that’s cool- but I know I’m too lazy to do the same. 🙂 Love your intro paragraphs too; they are always good for a giggle. Keep up the great work!
Reenie
December 4, 2013 at 9:26 AMHI!!!! I’m here daily ~ and check your blog 3 x a day!! But, very rarely comment. Sometimes I’ll go to the blog that you feature and leave a comment.
Sorry ~ ~ I’ll start commenting here, even if it’s just to say hi ~ ~ to let you know I’m here.
Love your Blog!! =) <3
Jennifer
December 4, 2013 at 9:53 AMCall me a contradictor! 🙂 I’ve been hearing crickets over on my blog as well and it’s been making me second guess how much time I am putting into the darn thing but here I swing by to check out yours almost every day and rarely leave a comment!! I swear I am here I just am always at work or feeding a baby when I read it.
Barbara @ DIY Home Staging Tips
December 4, 2013 at 10:32 AMAnother lurker, but like the others, I have my reasons. The best part of your blog for me is your witty writing.
Not all the makeovers interest me, and if they do and I visit the creator’s site, well, I’m not going to go “all the way back” to your site just to say, “nice job.” So, my advice would be to take heart from all these people who have answered your question. Be consoled by your stats!
Also, if you’re not commenting on other bloggers’ sites (I know, I know, it’s work!) people don’t feel the social obligation to comment on yours.
Just my 2 cents. Keep up the excellent writing, cuz we ARE listening.
Jamie
December 4, 2013 at 10:45 AMStill here reading every day Lindsey! But your comments about comments in this post (errr, what?) serve as a reminder to me that I need to join in on the conversation more! 🙂
Love your blog, gal!
car54
December 4, 2013 at 10:45 AMI read your blog every day –but I follow you on Feedly and unless I take the time to click over to the blog I don’t see the comments –so I’m lazy sometimes.
I really enjoy how many makeovers you post–you have some of the most frequently updated content of any blog I follow and I particularly enjoy your style of writing–you are very funny.
Lisa
December 4, 2013 at 11:18 AMLOVE your site! Never commented but I do love all the ideas I get.
Jocelyn
December 4, 2013 at 11:27 AMI also read your blog everyday! Our family recently made a big life transition, and we are currently living in Amman, Jordan. In between, language studies, working , and helping our children with their language studies, our plates our full. BUT, this blog (and a few others) is one I check everyday for a little “me” time. It encourages me to look at things with fresh/new eyes. Sometimes, it can be discouraging not having the stores (or even Goodwills) here that are in the US, but your blog helps me see the old and tired things can have a new life with a little paint and TLC. Love your posts!
Dani
December 4, 2013 at 11:41 AMI used to NOT be able to leave comments because I didn’t have the right kind of email (or maybe I’m just terrible at computers) so I gave up and still commented on posts, but it all went on in my head. That must feel really awkward to have a conversation with someone and then they reply in their mind, but not out loud…
Anyhoo, this new comment system is a total breeze which is great! I’m just not in the habit of commenting yet. We are out hear laughing with you though!
Stephanie
December 4, 2013 at 11:57 AMWow, feeling loved yet? 🙂
I love reading your blog, I read and admire every post. It’s my dream to one day be featured here, after I finish remodeling my kitchen. But yeah, I am definitely a lazy commenter, sorry about that.
Beverly
December 4, 2013 at 2:59 PMHi! I feel so selfish!!! I love your writing, love your blog, and have never commented. I guess I never really considered that comments might matter to the blogger! [I should do this on other blogs, too, no???] Thank you for sharing your great sense of humor [the ugly lamp contest!!!] and style.
Lindsey @ Better After
December 4, 2013 at 3:52 PMHaha, thanks so much Beverly! Much appreciated!

December 4, 2013 at 4:36 PMI love your blog and I check it fairly regulary. It even made it onto the short list of blogs I decided follow when I was cutting back the time I spend reading blogs, so please keep up!
Lindsey @ Better After
December 4, 2013 at 5:01 PMVery honored to hear that! Thank you!

December 4, 2013 at 7:01 PMI usually just lurk because I feel like it must be annoying to bloggers to have to read and approve every comment… but I guess not! 😀

December 4, 2013 at 9:46 PMLately all this painted furniture is just same-o after same-o, nothing truly original. I hate to say anything coz it sounds mean so I dont say anything. THEN…on your no comments post…ORIGINAL paint schemes!!! I love both of these pieces you shared. Thank you. If I see one more post with burlap, or sloppy looking “aged paint” Im gonna explode!!!!!

December 5, 2013 at 5:05 AMI only look at about 3 blogs a day and yours is one of them! I love how you post every day 🙂 We moved in August after living in another town 20 years and went from a 1903 home to a 1970’s split level, any and all tricks to make stuff from the old house fit into the “new” house have my interest. I was raised to make due with what you have and your blog has helped so much to see all my old stuff with a new eye.

December 5, 2013 at 9:17 AMUm…what they said.
Seriously, I love it here and I’m sorry I don’t comment much. I know exactly what you mean. Nobody comments on my blog anymore either. Damn them all to hell. How would they like it if I just stopped writing? Then they’d be sorry! Then they’d miss me, the ungrateful dingdangsoandsos. Hee hee. I guess it’s just the way blogs are working these days. People pin instead of commenting, I think.

December 5, 2013 at 9:30 AMI know you just got a flood of comments but I thought I’d leave one too. I’ve read every single post. I love this blog and I LOVE your commentary. This site has become my husbands nightmare because now I want to do so many things! (On top of that we bought a run down house we are renovating). This site is awesome. Keep it up! And thank you for taking the time to do it!

December 5, 2013 at 11:21 AMI hear ya! My comments are in the gutters, but my pageviews are way up! They must all be the strong, silent types.

December 5, 2013 at 11:13 PMAlways look, always enjoy, just never thought my comments mattered. I will try and do “better after” as I love your blog.

December 6, 2013 at 2:13 PMI am a fellow blogger, only I run a book blog instead of a design blog, but I can still relate to the steady decline of comments in recent years! Just wanted to leave a quick note saying that I do appreciate your blog. I find the before/after shots to be so inspirational! They motivate me to give a more creative eye the things in my home. I’m sorry I don’t comment hardly at all (as a fellow blogger I should do better!) but I do appreciate what you’re doing and look forward to reading your posts when I check my feedly! Thanks for what you do, you make the internet a prettier place. 🙂

December 6, 2013 at 9:20 PMI read daily (and the amount of comments on this post means I’m not the only one 🙂 I’m just not one that comments much 🙁

December 10, 2013 at 10:34 AMI LOVE your blog. Love makeovers of all kinds! I read blogs in a reader, so it’s several extra steps to make comments–hardly ever do it–but I’m here, and a huge fan 🙂

December 20, 2013 at 1:57 AMI rarely comment, sorry. I hadn’t checked in here for a few months because i always use an ipad and your first mobile version (wherei had to swipe to get past the intro) drove me nuts. I was really surprised and pleased to see that it’s changed now and I think it is much better. I tried to comment from the mobile version, which comes up by default, and couldn’t actually find any way to do it. I could see icons to pin it, email a link, share on Facebook etc, but had no comments. I had to use the menu to switch to the desktop version and then find this post again. Maybe I missed seeing the comments box on the mobile site, but I looked everywhere I think.
