Capturing Color

Some of the feedback I got yesterday was that many of you missed a few features of my blog before the redesign, mainly the blog roll with links to other blogs, and the ‘like it,’ ‘love it,’ buttons too.  I am happy to put them back!  I …  just need to figure out how to do it.  (Switch to WordPress, they said.  It is so easy and intuitive, they said.  LIES!)  Anyway.  So I could use your help reminding me of some of your favorite blogs that I used to have on my sidebar, and I’ll try to get that reinstated. Or if you know a great plugin for that, I’m all ears. Yay, feedback!

And now, I present the office makeover of a dear friend of mine, Kristen at Capturing Joy. She’s talented at many things, and has a personality as sweet and colorful as this room.  She’s also a photography genius and is constantly sharing her tips and tricks, (although the best thing she ever taught me is how to stand next to people in pictures without looking like I despise them. I don’t! Just respecting your personal space bubble, that’s all).

I love this giant photo feature wall, and that skinny little console too.  Be sure to head on over to her blog for a good look at all the fun details she’s got going on in here!

Adorable! I always look the same way in photos, I feel squished up against people, but then I see the resulting photo and look like I’m standing much farther away than anyone else – so if you ever feel like passing on that tip, I’m all ears!

Haha, the tip was just to not be afraid of touching! She physically smooshed me up against the people I was in the a picture with!

Really like the colors! And where did that ginormous frame come from?

Cute room! The bookshelves look so much better now, like they belong! I could really use that photo tip, too. P.S. I love your blog. I check it pretty much every day. 🙂

Thanks for your sweet words Kari! And the tip was just not to be afraid to squish up against people in a picture. A two inch gap looks a lot bigger on camera than you think!

What I love the most is the walls being repainted, the blue is nice and airy. Must applaud her for not being afraid of color.

The colors are just fabulous! I would love an office or any room with that color scheme.

I love all those bright happy colors!

I can’t remember all the blogs that you had links to, but I do remember that I used those links. 🙂

I am in a big avocado green zone now so I really love the painted bookshelves/armoire! I’m getting twitchy now to go out & find a piece of furniture to redo!!

    Hey Lindsey,

I always visit your blog but rarely comment cuz’ I don’t have much to add to what’s already been said. But just remember you have an ongoing “A.W.E.S.O.M.E!” from me :-).
I really miss your blogroll and I am a big WordPress fan but have never added a blogroll to any of my sites since I use WordPress for organization websites and not for blogs, but here’s a link to some plugins you might try:

I just caught up on your posts after a vacation. I am totally guilty of reading and not commenting, but I love your site. One of my very favs! I even show it to my kids because they love before and afters. I will try to pop in on the comments section more often!

This is so refreshing! I think I’ll go to her place from now on to get my work done. Also, as an FYI, yours is my favourite blog. Not only do I get a daily fix of home reno projects, I eat up your humour. I rarely comment, but I visit every day!
