It’s kind of a cruel irony that white paint will make anything stand out and look amazing, but pale white legs do the opposite. White paint: furniture pops! White legs: people make fun of you at the pool! Not cool man. Maybe if I wore a teal leather swimsuit, my legs would stand out real nice, just like Gina’s chairs do here. Hmm, that doesn’t even sound like a good idea in theory. I’ll just leave that look to the furniture.
I love how the leather is the star of the show now, it looks brand new! See the whole story of Gina’s beautiful chairs on her blog Charming Zebra.

August 14, 2013 at 3:41 PMThat is a huge difference! I didn’t like the leather in the Before picture, but it looks beautiful with the white paint.

August 14, 2013 at 3:51 PMI am in awe of that paint job! So many intricate little bits!
ALSO, I stay as pale as humanly possible. On purpose. Because I like it. I even wear sunscreen in the car when I’m driving so my arms don’t get any sort of tan at all. If I could look as though I had lived in a cave with only filtered light for a year, I would be one happy camper.

August 14, 2013 at 3:58 PMThanks so much for featuring my Craig’s List chairs, Lindsey! I was a bit surprised myself, at how much the white paint changed the whole look. (We use the chairs daily–so not too bad for $35 a piece!)

August 14, 2013 at 9:29 PMI am going to differ on this one . The wood against that blue looks much richer than the white . I think I would have just cleaned up the beautiful wood. The white “pops ” too much.

August 14, 2013 at 10:38 PMI am shocked by the difference in the chairs! Teal swimsuit and white legs, not sure you would find the complements you were hoping for. 🙂

August 15, 2013 at 1:57 AMI hear ya on the white legs. Lindsey. My Polar Bear suntan makes people put on sunglasses in night time! Heck, Paramedics pull up and try to drag me into the back of the ambulance thinking I need medical attention! But seriously, those chairs! Nice or what!

August 15, 2013 at 4:37 PMHi Nad,
The buttons disappeared when I made the switch to WordPress. I’m still learning my way around, so hopefully I can figure out a way to get them back up soon.

September 7, 2013 at 5:01 AMThat small change brightened up the chairs so much. I just found a wing back chair and I’ve been looking for inspiration to spruce it up a bit. Love your blog. Seeing the amazing things people do to their furniture is so inspiring.
