Sure, this before crib is quite nice, but don’t you think deep dark cherry-wood is a bit serious for baby? So grown up! Unless you plan on eventually transitioning the crib into a bookshelf for grandpa’s den, why not try something bright and colorful? It’s good for their cognitive development, you know. The baby’s, not grandpa’s I mean.
Looking closer at the crib, I can see a few paint swatches of things to come. Can you guess which one Helen at Picked and Painted chose?

Aqua! And oh my goodness, look at that sweet little peanut inside. I think she likes it!

July 30, 2013 at 5:31 PMThanks! Link is fixed now. She used a paint from Behr, not sure exactly which kind, or if she sealed it or not. But brand new furniture is going to be treated with chemicals in some way too, sad truth. :/ However, there are lots of non-toxic and NO VOC paints out there, and even some organic paint brands too. I’d say that’s your best bet.

July 30, 2013 at 3:55 PMOMG Lindsey I laughed so hard. 🙂 It is really beautiful, but I have to admit I also like the before picture, my daughter’s crib is like the before picture. lol
I am planning on having another baby so there is still hope for me. 🙂
Take care, hugs from Toronto

July 30, 2013 at 4:04 PMWhat paint did she use? I have a cherry crib/furniture too, but I wouldn’t want to paint it in fear of the chemicals. My first child liked to gnaw on the crib rail.

July 30, 2013 at 5:24 PMThere’s not a thing wrong with the before, but the after is really something special. Not just the crib, but the painted nightstand, the old window, just everything! I have a feeling I’d love living in Helen’s house.

July 30, 2013 at 5:50 PMI have or should say had that exact crib. I love her color choice and re-do. When my son was out of it I took it a part and turned the back panel into an upholstered full headboard for under $60. It is amazing what you can do with that crib. I love it when people think outside of the box! Awesome job.

August 5, 2013 at 3:10 PMI’ve been slowly converting everything in my house to organic based products. First I started off with my food, and then clothes. Now, I want to remodel my house to not only be organic, but to incorporate as much green technology as possible. After researching tons of organic Clay paint, or milk paints, I’ve decided on my brand and now I just need to pick out colors. What color’s would you suggest for a room with a medium grey carpet?
