How is your week going? How are things looking here? I’m still camping, so I really have no idea what has been going on with the Blogger to WordPress switch. That’s the beauty of scheduled posts! Here’s hoping that when I return everything will be in its proper order and there won’t be like, some mail-order-bride website here instead. And I’m also hoping to get caught up on my emails, yikes. I do apologize if you’ve submitted something to me recently, I’m a few weeks behind! Arr, summer, you kick my butt every time.
But happy Friday to you, and please enjoy this makeover from Teresa, who actually gives herself no credit for this redo. In fact, you may have already seen it, if you are a fan of the HGTV show Curb Appeal. I love that show. Too bad whenever I turn on HGTV it’s nothing but a House Hunter’s International marathon. EVERY! TIME!
Anyway, Teresa – a big architecture buff – couldn’t have been more thrilled when the fabulously talented and insanely handsome architect John Gidding proposed this homage to Gerrit Reitveld’s Schroder House. Or, in other words, wowwwww.
But even if you don’t have HGTV knocking on your door, you can still make a massive impact on the exterior of your home just by upgrading your landscaping. What an amazing difference that alone makes!

July 12, 2013 at 3:53 PMIs Teresa the homeowner? Because I saw this episode and the homeowner was wildly entertaining during the makeover. I started watching mid-episode and could not believe it when they did the reveal and showed the before photos. Such a beautiful transformation!
And I know exactly what you mean with those House Hunter International marathons…do people actually enjoy watching House Hunters??? It’s so staged and ridiculously boring.

July 12, 2013 at 4:57 PMwell I didn’t see that coming and I’d have never thought of that change. I didn’t see it on HGTV and now I want to. I watch the international house hunters if it’s on when I turn it on. I just caught house raiders finally. It’s neat to show my kids other places. They always want to move when there is a tropical location. Haha.

July 12, 2013 at 5:04 PMHHI? Seriously. They show that waaay too often. So unidentifiable (is that a word?) for most of us. Give me “Property Brothers” any day!

July 13, 2013 at 5:14 AMHa! So totally agree about House Hunters International. I wish they had a tad more variety in the late evening hours, which is the only time our TV isn’t on Disney, PBS Kids, or Nickelodeon. Oh, well… I actually DID see that episode of Curb Appeal! 🙂

July 13, 2013 at 6:36 PMI like House Hunters International, but only if it’s in Europe. I like seeing how they live (in tiny flats, mostly. Downton Abby had me so disillusioned…)

July 14, 2013 at 2:19 PMHGTV needs to revap how they air episodes. Drowning the evening with the same show over and over has to stop. They need to air twice a week one episode then if there is needed material bring back some favorites. I loved if Walls could Talk or Design on a Dine or Kenneth Brown Redesign or get a show like Nate Berkus to air. Sorry to vent your post was a great one. I will make sure HGTV hears my response.!!!!

July 30, 2013 at 5:57 AMThank you, rphd! I am the homeowner and I’m glad I was entertaining!!! Obviously, I love makeovers as I read this blog. I am still pinching myself that my house got made over!!! It was so much fun to do. To be candid, I don’t even have a TV so I’d never even seen the show before! So, I don’t know about HGTV’s programming but I know our episode comes up every couple of months. You can see the schedule online. Hopefully, not so often that people get super sick of seeing me and my neighbors!!
