Kidding Around

Looking for some kid stuff, baby this evening! I need some kid stuff, baby tonight! I want some kid stuff, baby this evening!  Gotta have some kid stuff, gotta have some kid stuff toniiiiight!

My apologies to Donna Summer, but seriously Donna, it’s not like ‘hot stuff’ is anymore creative than ‘kid stuff.’

Anyway, here come some fun kiddie makeovers hot and fresh for you!

Eliesa at A Pinterest Addict found this very western stagecoach magazine rack and immediately re-imagined it as a princess carriage for her niece.  Now instead of holding copies of Arizona Highways or something, (which I actually subscribe to because I am one step away from AARP apparently), it will be a handy holder for all her princess fairy-tales.

And Kristen, from Kristen Duke Photography, who I had the great pleasure of meeting and rooming with at SNAP, and now consider a friend, was excited about this rocking chair she bought brand-new for her first-born.  As the years went on, she became less and less fond of it, until she realized that she would probably like it better if it was cute. So she gave it a fun and funky makeover and found out she was right!

And finally, another amazing kid-kitchen, which I suspect I’ll never tire of, especially when they spring forth from such outdated furniture.  I mean, I can’t think of a better use for an old stereo cabinet, unless you still have an unnecessarily large stereo. Cara was inspired by the retro kid-kitchen from Pottery Barn Kids, (which retails for a whopping $800!), and knocked off an even better version with this $3 cabinet.  See her whole cost break-down on the blog Scissors and Scattered Cheerios.

Wow! I adore them all. When I have kids, I’ll be doing this.
