There’s just something wrong about a grimy laundry room. That’s where you go to make stuff clean! It should be clean too! It’s like when my daughter went on a preschool field trip to the grocery store, and came home and told me she saw a pet gerbil there. Why management keeps a pet gerbil at the grocery store is information I’d like to have. Doesn’t that seem … wrong? Maybe she made that up. Who knows.
Anyway, Dee Dee had herself one gerbil of a laundry room when she first moved into this home. Just about every single surface got a makeover in here, and look how much space they gained by stacking the washer and dryer. Enough to add a little countertop with plenty of storage underneath. Great job from someone who calls herself a “DIY rookie!”
Lot’s more to see on her blog Clover House.

March 1, 2013 at 4:28 PMAs soon as you said the grocery store had a “pet gerbil”, I remembered a trip to an unfamiliar grocery store where I thought I saw a piece of fruit rolling across the produce section – only to realize it was a mouse. (I choose to think “mouse” rather than “rat” as that would have freaked me out.) Might want to ask if that “pet gerbil” was in a cage!

March 4, 2013 at 11:06 PMI keep seeing the stacked layout, which with my W/D would be 78″ high. Even though I’m 5’10” & could access the dryer, the display & controls would be 12″ above my line of vision. How would anyone of average height reach the dryer without a step stool? When I posted a similar photo on my FB page a few days ago, most people said they wouldn’t go with that plan unless there was no other way to include a laundry area.
