If you would have shown me this bathroom a decade ago or so, I probably would have been very wide-eyed and impressed. “Ooooh! Look at that big tub! And fancy swags! And these rust-colored walls, how avant-garde!” Fortunately our tastes have evolved since then, but not my ability to be utterly amazed! I’m so wide-eyed at this transformation, I think my eyeballs just fell out!

Incredible, no?

So very beautiful! Seriously, this is my dream bathroom. Well done Melissa!

November 14, 2011 at 3:35 PMWell, the rust and swags were hideous, but honestly, the two words that I never want to see together are “bathroom” and “stark”. I was cold just looking at this. brrrrrr
nevertheless, the change was enormous and that itself deserves a Bravo!

November 14, 2011 at 3:39 PMSo much better! I love that she made such classic, timeless choices in the new bathroom. Hard to imagine (though one only knows with hindsight, of course) that this bath will ever go out of style.

November 14, 2011 at 3:41 PMTotally incredible. That shower floor is amazing. That “before” looks like about 90% of the houses on House Hunters and I’m always amazed when someone walks in a room like that and goes, “Wow, there’s a really big tub,” and misses the totally ugly part.
I love super clean and fresh bathrooms.

November 14, 2011 at 3:43 PM@Tanja – that made me smile. 🙂 Can’t you just imagine the person who put up the swags and rust-colored wall saying that. teee heeee

November 14, 2011 at 5:45 PMIt’s so interesting how our tastes change throughout the decades…Love this bathroom and it’s classic, so I think we’ll still love it in ten years.

November 14, 2011 at 5:50 PMI felt cleaner just looking at it. Now I don’t even need a shower.

November 14, 2011 at 7:05 PMWow, I love how it turned out. But it is typical, they put all that effort into making it fabulous but still forgot to put a shelf in for the shampoo and conditioner in the shower!

November 14, 2011 at 10:19 PMDreamy, all except the GIANT and terrifyingling open windows. I seriously can NOT bathe in any room that doesn’t have windows completely covered. Noone needs to be seeing my bidness, if ya know what I mean.

November 14, 2011 at 11:38 PMAgreed, Allyson! It’s a BEAUTIFUL bathroom, but I don’t want to be all nekkid in front of the windows–as I am sure my neighbors would agree.

November 16, 2011 at 2:07 AMBeautifully done! I would not want to be the one to clean that shower though! The original rust color was a bit much, but I think the re-do could use just a bit of color to warm it up.
sweetouch!
November 20, 2011 at 8:04 PMI agree with meadowlark… it looks much better but it seems like it’s a sterile bathroom now. Love the shower but it needs some punches of color somewhere
