Leslie’s kitchen was sporting an overabundance of yellowy oak cabinetry: the kitchen equivalent of sweatpants. Easy. Boring. Unflattering. And a little grungy. So she decided to give it the little black dress treatment instead with Benjamin Moore Onyx and a mouse sander to show off its curves and edges. Insta-glam! And now I’m inspired … to go put on my little black sweats.

July 14, 2011 at 2:49 AMWe went from white, painted and repainted falling apart cabinets to new cabinets this year. I chose espresso color, perhaps because it was the opposite of what we had. And maybe just because dark cabinets are gorgeous!!!

July 15, 2011 at 12:29 AMLove the black kitchen redo! And I LOVE your comment comparison about the yellowy-toned cabinets to sweat pants! I’m laughing and laughing and laughing! Why? Because I see tons of that type of kitchen around here and cringe every time! Eeewwww! Now I’ll secretly laugh about the “sweat pants look” too 🙂
