I am having a crush on this chest by Janessa from Savvy Saver Secrets. I love how the glaze really outlines the curves. I’m a sucker for anything black and white, which reminds me … I’ve been thinking of replacing this sad metal leaf thing that has hung on my living room wall for like, hundreds of years and of doing a gallery wall instead. I’m thinking about black and white photos, framed in white frames, but THEN I thought, “Hmmm, what if I painted the sides of the white frames black?” So… think on that for me, friend. Would that look cool or kinda dweeby? Have you seen it done somewhere? Am I making any sense?

June 22, 2011 at 4:10 PMOoh, I love the idea of painting the sides of the photo frame. The defined edge will look really crisp.

June 23, 2011 at 1:12 AMI agree that the idea of painting the sides black and the rest white will make the pics look particularly crisp and lovely. Beautiful idea.
Do you ever show photos of your own place????

“Yeah, why don’t you show your home photos, eh? Are you a fraidy cat or sumthin’?”
*Sauntering away*
“By the way, a lot of work to just paint the sides of the frames to keep the paint off the front. If you’re not too chicken to do it and post the pics, that is…”

May 24, 2012 at 12:32 AMI know this is reaaaaaaaaaally old, but just in case you didn’t do what you said you wanted to do with the gallery wall (and it seems like you *might* be inclined to put things off… no judgement) I say GO FOR IT! Paint the edges black!
