I hope you aren’t tired of ornate mirror makeovers, because I seem to be obsessed with them lately! This one comes from Nealy at Bambina Babe, and I love the unexpected pop of color it adds to her daughter’s darling nursery.
Scroll on down and you’ll see before and afters of the nursery itself. That way we can pretend this is really a bedroom makeover post, and not yet another ornate frame makeover post! Thanks Nealy!

January 31, 2011 at 9:28 PMI’m a sucker for light blue/turquoise and red if I ever met one and this room just has me swooning. The mirror is awesome … so much better in red than in gold. What a perfect nursery: sweet but not overly done.

February 1, 2011 at 12:40 AMAbsolutely love it!!! Whimsical but not overdone. I’d put the mirror in a different location though… my baby cousin’s face was sliced by a mirror when she banged it, needing life-saving, serious plastic surgery. I wouldn’t take my chances.

February 1, 2011 at 3:14 AMI love the color of the mirror and the room, but agree with Ren about moving the mirror when this little one can reach it – my niece was badly hurt by a mirror as a toddler as well.

February 1, 2011 at 9:01 AMAbsolutely adorable! Her blog says the color of the mirror is actually hot pink, so it’s showing different in the picture. But nonetheless it’s a perfect color combo with great contrast.
And I really hate to say something negative about this room b/c it’s so dang cute, but I have to agree with others about the mirror. If you are going to keep it there, please make sure that thing is stuck to the wall like no other. And maybe pull the crib a couple inches from the wall. I’m sure you’ve probably considered that!
Beautiful job!

February 2, 2011 at 1:09 AMI LOVE THIS NURSERY! But… I would never hang anything, let alone, a mirror over a crib!!!! Maybe that’s just the mother of 3 boys in me talking but careful of the curious hands!

February 3, 2011 at 2:20 AMLooks beautiful but I agree with everyone else- The mirror above the crib is really scary. Even if the baby can’t reach it, the mirror could somehow fall from any number of reasons. Even if the crib was pulled out from the wall, the mirror could fall flat instead of strait against the wall… or an older sibling could throw a toy and break it… just not safe imo.
