Ok, so the following pictures are not of the most exciting subject ever. It’s a mattress topper. (I threw Koy on there for some added cuteness). But CSNstores.com was kind enough to let me review a product, and that’s what I chose! (Sidenote, it is RIDICULOUSLY hard to narrow down your choices over at CSNstores.com, because they carry, literally, like seventy billion products).
Anyway, our guest bed situation was somewhat dire.
They say that “futon” is Japanese for “unwanted guest.” “Hide-a-bed” is just more of the same. You know things are bad when your brother-in-law comes to visit, flies in on a red-eye with a brain-melting fever and a raging case of the flu and still opts to sleep on the floor. (Sorry Jeff).
Finally annoyed enough with the whole shamdangle, we recently tossed the bed and put a big, fat sectional up there so we can pretend it’s a real room and at least the kids have something to jump off into the clean laundry. Thus the hide-a-bed, and it’s pathetic excuse for a mattress, which I’m certain is just broken shards of glass neatly wrapped in mattress material.
So a mattress pad was in order! Two lush inches of memory foam to comfortably swaddle our guests until the day we can turn that stupid loft into a normal bedroom with walls and everything, and all will be right with the world at last!
Anyway, we like it, as you can see. It folds up nicely into the hide-a-bed and fluffs up nicely when it’s not in hiding. It would be great on a regular bed too. Going through CSNstores.com was a breeze and it arrived in less than 2 weeks, and free shipping too! Can’t beat it. See it here.

January 14, 2011 at 2:49 PMMy parents have one of these for when we come visit. The hide-a-bed was misery until they got this… the first couple nights we were pretty happy. A week and a half later though, we were just kind of over sleeping on a fold out bed. I think, though, that if you only stay a few nights these things are great. By the way, your kiddo is supercutes!
