Lindsey’s blog is called Dancing Through Life, and I’m sure she is now thanks to her lovely kitchen redo. Not digging the hokey-oak cabinets and overall drabness of this kitchen, she gave the whole scene a light, bright eye catching makeover.
Not sure if the fan is new or not, but it looks good. What’s your verdict on fans in the kitchen? I’m torn… sure they keep you cool in the hottest room in the house, but then I start thinking of all the dust mites and dead skin cells being thrust down into my food and then I freak out. But maybe that’s just me.

I am a fan of fans in the kitchen. Actually, I’m a fan of fans in every room. Keeps the bill down versus using the A/C in the summer.
This is a really nice kitchen redo. It’s so bright and airy. And the brown walls against the white cabinets was unexpected.

September 16, 2010 at 11:41 AMthis kitchen redo is worth dancing in. I had a fan in my last kitchen and didn’t do one in my new home and I sure do miss it. No skin cells if you keep it dusted. 😉

September 16, 2010 at 11:59 AMI’m with you on not being a fan of having a fan in the kitchen. Our house had one when we moved in and I hated using it. When we remodeled our kitchen, we did not put one back in and I do not miss it. I makes the space look a lot less cluttered too if you have low ceilings.

September 16, 2010 at 11:50 PMWho would’ve ever thought the word “thrust” could be worked into a kitchen remodel post? Bravo.

September 16, 2010 at 6:19 PMOnce again, white cabinets make the “after” look a million times better than the “before”.
We haven’t had ceiling fans in over ten years and haven’t missed them. Maybe if you have really high ceilings they work well, but they need a lot of cleaning VERY frequently. Especially in the kitchen, where you’ve got dust AND grease.
Many kudos to Lindsay for resisting the urge to put in McMansion granite countertops. Great job!

September 24, 2010 at 3:00 AMI’m going to have to go with you on this one, and agree that I am not a fan of fans in the kitchen. 🙂
But the fan does nothing to detract from the beauty of this kitchen redo. It looks fantastic! I love love love white kitchen cabinets! I’m dreaming of the day I can have beautiful crisp white cabinets…
