Wowsers, this kitchen was bad. Every early-90’s kitchen cliche you could ask for! Red walls, mauve countertops, brass fixtures, florescent block lighting, and, wait, is that a heart-motif wallpaper border circling the ceiling? Yes. Yes, I believe it is.
Well, the after more than makes up for the before. They don’t even look like distant relatives! Thanks to Katie, who shares more pictures of her friend Joyce’s kitchen remodel on her blog Yoga Gal!

January 21, 2010 at 3:13 PMWell crap. . . . my kitchen is red. I didn’t know I was stuck in the 90s though because I painted it in 2004. I guess I need to go to Lowes and pick out a new color.

January 21, 2010 at 3:28 PMAahhhh! Thank you for featuring Joyce’s kitchen, I just emailed her to let her know. I will link up over at Yoga Gal ASAP!
And as for red walls, I think that if you love it- rock the red walls. Isn’t that the most important thing about decorating your home? Filling it with ideas and designs that YOU like. 😀
Thank you Lindsey! Big Hug.

January 22, 2010 at 3:26 AMThanks for sharing my kitchen remodel. Everyone thought we were insane for buying a house that was in such bad shape that it wouldn’t sell at a foreclosure auction. I hauled over 22,000 pounds of construction debris to the dump myself. The house was a total remodel – including the removal of a 100 pound bee hive from the dining room ceiling!! Thanks for the kind words!
