Grandma’s Lamp

Hard to believe this trendy lamp was once a gold covered hand-me-down paired with a ratty 75 cent thrift store shade. Brooke from The New Dorothy spray painted the base silver and tore apart the old shade and used it as a pattern for a new damask shade. Can you go wrong with damask, I ask? I daresay you can’t. Thanks Brooke!

looks great except… did anyone else notice that the “before” lamp and the “after” lamp have totally different shapes?

Yes, they are different lamps. She explains on her blog that she forgot to take a before, so she showed this one because it was very similar. 🙂

Dang, I wish I could find a sweet lamp. 🙁 I’ve been checking the thrift store, but nothing that catches my fancy yet….
