Tasha’s Living Room

There certainly wasn’t anything terrifying about this before living room, but there sure was a lot of beige going on. A heck of a lot of beige. That is, until Tasha from The Simply Staged Home got her hands on it and turned it from blah to awe! I know if I was looking to purchase this home, I’d be a lot more excited about walking into the after!
What I love most: the new little countertop, it adds a whole new function to the room, how the beautiful front window is now a main focal point, and how there’s actually less art and accessories than before. Now everything seems balanced and in proportion, and I love the soothing colors used too. Check out more from Tasha at The Simply Staged Home!

April Fools! part three

Welcome to our final installment of wacky April Fool’s projects. When most people tackle a makeover, it’s usually something like a chair, or an ugly old shelf, or some such.
Very few, and by very few I mean once, has anyone sent me a plastic deer head makeover.
This before deer honestly looks like something that you might find near the singing fish decor in Wal-Mart. But Lindsay was thinking less Wal-Mart, more Z Gallerie, where she had spotted a faux deer mount for $220.
So she got out the high gloss white and classed up that deer, and now he’s looking like this and light years away from this.

April Fools! part two

Our April Fool’s day of wacky projects continues with this cool chair redo by Jennifer from Rambling Renovators. I love the nubby new fabric and color choice. “Sure Lindsey,” you say, “but what is so crazy about this chair?”
Well, maybe you’ve already spotted it, but it honestly took me a second to figure it out. Go see for yourself on Jennifer’s blog HERE.

(Spoiler alert: it’s a baby chair!)

April Fools! part one

In honor of April Fool’s day, today I’m going to show a few projects that are just too zany to believe!

First up is this chair makeover by Tootsie, featured on her blog Tootsie Time. Before, a faded, plain wingback chair. And after … did she recover it in leather somehow? It’s so precise … and … shiny …
Do not adjust your monitors, what you are looking at is layers and layers of latex paint! I’ve seen fabric spray painted before, but never this effect. I bet you could wipe stains right off! I admit, I’m not super fond of the color, but imagine the possibilities… Zany, I tell ya.

Turned to Stone

Looking for some garden decor? Look no further than … the Goodwill lamp section? That’s where Becky from Nine is Fine put her Mrs. CreativePants hat on and saw the potential in an old brass lamp. She disassembled it, added a drapery-rod finial and some stone effect spray paint, and wow! Quite a nifty transformation, I’d say. See the whole process HERE. Thanks Becky!

Mills on Wheels

Ok, I admit, when I saw this before … thing, I was pretty skeptical. When Suzanne from Pieced Pastimes brought it home from an antique shop, her husband was pretty skeptical too. We saw junk, but she saw a new coffee table.

When she found that this old mill cart had once belonged to the Harry Stoller Company, she even stenciled the name on the side to add more history.

And guess what? Her husband likes it now, and I have to say I love it, even though I guarantee I would be whacking my knee on those metal end pieces every time I walked by. Thanks Suzanne! See more HERE.
